I'm motivated now. I don't know where to begin. I weigh more now than I ever have and I weigh more than my DH. I've progressively gained weight since we got married - I haven't let myself go though. I'm getting older, busier, and the pounds slowly crept on. We went to Disney this past January and had this horrible "arguement". I can't even remember how or why it ever started but we were walking in Epcot and just started bickering. Eventually the disagreement turned to me gaining weight, the lack of intimacy in our relationship, and how he doesn't find me attractive anymore - but he still loves me. Yes, all of this happened within our first 10 minutes at Epcot on day 2 of our vacation.

I was dumbfounded, heartbroken, and speachless. Needless to say I went on a diet right after we got home. I've lost about 20 pounds but can't seem to shake anymore off. We have another Disney trip planned in 15 days and I was hoping to have lost more weight by now. But I haven't.

I woke up last Sunday morning and switched on the television when the same infomercial that has played for months was on. It's the 6 week body makeover. I've seen it tons of times but never really paid any attention to it until last Sunday. Well - I ordered it and it came yesterday. Tomorrow I will start the 6 day mini-makeover and see how it goes. I understand that my weight won't just magically disappear overnight, but I'm hopeing that this program will give the pounds a push in the right direction.

Comments are welcome and I plan on keeping you all informed about this program. It's so easy to talk to complete strangers!! :goodvibes

Hi Amanda, Welcome to WISH! You will find lots of support here, I have made some great friends here on this board and they keep me going. I have seen the six week makeover infomercial too, let us know how it goes, I have always wondered about it.

I am sorry about what your husband said to you that day. Unfortunately, when somebody says something that hurtful, its hard to forget it. Probably just writing about that event and how it made you feel was helpful and therapeutic. I hope you have discussed this with him and told him how hurtful that was. In any case, it is not unusual to have an "event" push us over the line to lose weight but remember you have to do it for you not someone else. 20 Pounds is an awesome amount of weight to lose, what an accomplishment! Don't beat yourself up for not losing more in time for your next vacation. When you walk around WDW very soon, you will be well aware of not having that extra 20 pounds walking around with you I am sure. Again, welcome to the WISH, keep us posted on your progress :thumbsup2 !

Hi Amanda! Welcome!!!

Were you able to start your new program? I'd love to hear how it's going. Like Amy said, I'm sorry for what your husband said to you, but you used it as fuel to start taking better care of yourself.

Please keep us posted on your progress. We're here through the good times and bad (we've all had them). If you have time, check out some of the other journals for continued inspiration. There are some amazing people here with great life stories to share.

Well it's been 3 days and I've lost 4 pounds. I'm extremely excited about it. I also have noticed that my energy level has soared! My meals consist of:

Breakfast: 2 egg whites and 1/2 cup oatmeal
Mid-morning snack: 2 oz turkey breast & 1 cup greens
lunch: 3 oz. fish, 1/2 potato (regular or sweet), & 1 cup greens
Mid-afternoon snack: 2 oz. chicken & 1/2 cup strawberries
dinner: 3 oz fish & 1-2 cups steamed vegetables
snack: 2 oz. chicken & 1 cup greens

I mix splenda & cinnamon with my oatmeal. My turkey breast I grill cajun style. The "greans" I eat are normally a small salad with this wonderful homemade salad dressing. Oh and the fish -- It's wonderful. The chicken I marinated in lime juice, cumin, garlic and something else that I can't remember. I'm basically eating alot of protein ( I am supposed to eat tuna but I just can't do it). I am taking most of the sodium out of my diet because that just causes us to hold onto water. Did you know that diet soda and flavored water contains sodium? I went to Wal-mart and bought the sugar free single "koolaide" servings. Wal-marts own brand and they taste great with no sodium. I am using spices on everything now - spices many of us have in our spice cabinet and always wondered "what's this for". I'm going to post some marinades and rubs for everyone to try. You won't be disappointed.
