amana or whirlpool microwave - please help!

Our 10 year old Kenmore microwave had been acting up and finally died on Sunday. The new Kenmores do not look very good and have received terrible reviews. I am looking for a white mid-size counter top model and have narrowed down my choices to these two:

Amana AMC5143AAW

Whirlpool MT4155SPQ

Does anyone have either of these or have any experience with these brands? I need to make a decision soon - life is tough these days with out a microwave!

Since Amana is owned by Whirlpool there is a good chance that they are interchangable. Is there a reason you like those models? Is there a feature that you are interested in? I'm not familiar with the Amana model but the Whirlool is carried by the store I work for on our website only. I think that you may be paying more the Whirlpool name. You might want to look into a LG of the same size and features.

I'm looking for:
white countertop model
1.2 - 1.5 cu ft
at least 1000 watts
push button door opener
sensor cooking (never had this before but sounds nice)
good reliability
simple control panel

I really couldn't find any LG's like that. I initially liked the Amana model - good user reviews,lots of features, but then found Whirlpool model that seems about the same but has a little more watts, recessed turntable (amana's is not recessed), few extra options like keep warm. Amana $149 or Whirlpool $159 when I called local Maytag store. I would be able to see the Amana at the store, but the Whirlpool would have to be ordered. I could not find much for user reviews for the Wirlpool, but one I did see said it had a thinner plastic film on the door window, so I would like to see it in person before deciding.

I am not sure about that exact model, but we have had Whirlpool microwaves in our last 2 houses and loved them. From a consumer standpoint, they are a great product!
