AM tour or gather FP's

what would you do.....

these are the details
first trip to DLR - many to WDW
we get the FP system and plan to "gather" when we can to use later in the day
we are going week after Christmas 26th-30th...4 1/2 days...really busy time I know!!!

considering doing "welcome to DL tour" mostly to get on some rides...get 2 FP for later use and reserved seating for Aladdin....

now I am wondering if time would not be better spent in the morning hours to get more FP's....tour runs from 10-1230...we were going to do it on a Magic Morning day..enter park at 7am...do fantaslyland and other open rides in early AM then do tour - but we would only come out of that with 2 FP for use later in the day...would we have gotten much more than that if we didn't do the tour or is that probably all we would have had by 1230 anyway?

I would recommend that you do the tour, if you value the nostalgic. You will learn a lot of great things about Walt and the parks. I liked that part of it, even though I had been to the park many times before I took the tour with another family that was there for the first time.

When on the tour, you actually will take the time to grab fastpasses at Tower of Terror. I would also think that if your window opens and you are passing a machine, that you could easily grab another set. (and since you will be in both parks, you will be able to get passes from both parks)

Also, with the park opening at 8, if you get your first set at 8, your second set probably no later than 8:40, you will likely be able to get 3 sets before your tour even begins.

I wouldn't let the fast pass collecting stop you from going on the tour. Just decide if it is of interest to your family or not.

That being said, since you are doing the Holiday Tour, I may be inclined to skip this one.

they will let us pause the tour to get FP's ???? or are these the FP's that they say they give you at the end of the tour - says you get 2 fast passes plus ride on 3 rides during the tour

Would your DDs beinterested in doing this tour? I think that is the deciding factor.


But you have 4.5 days even though it will be busy you can ride everything with a FP a few times if you want. The ones decorated for the Holidays will be much busier than usual.

Also note in DL nothing in Fantasyland has a FP unlike the MK. That's why it's key to do certain attractions there during MM if you like FL. Your group might be more into Tomorrowland for the MM.
