Please tell me if you feel that I am wrong for planning a trip to WDW for just my DH and myself and deciding not to take my children. Please understand that this is my first trip ever. I have never been before. My two oldest children have been to Disneyland before. I am just really wanting to take a trip with only my DH this year to someplace I will enjoy for a change. Please tell me if you think I am wrong for wanting to do this. I have been given so much flack about not taking my kids with me because WDW is for children. Please tell me what you think. Thank you in advance...

Go for it and have a great vacation.

Hey dont worry.. My parents would go with friends.. and my Sister and I would stay with my aunt... My parents would bring us back loads of stuff... My sister and I would be upset but my mom and dad would tell us that sometimes mommies and daddies need to go away with friends and do grown up stuff that kids cant do....LOL..My parents are going next month with the same friends...l I already made a list of what I want from them;)

Thank you for the encouragement. I will just be sure to bring my kids and grandbaby back plenty of goodies to make it up to them. :cool1:

I went in December with just my finacee and his family for the first time ever to WDW!!! I had so much fun just relaxing and enjoying myself without having to worry about my son!!! We're going back in October and we're taking my son with us! This is his first vacation ever and its to WDW!! How cool of parents does he have?!?!?!? He was a lil uspet when he seen the video but once we told him that he was going, he was all excited!! He even sleeps with his Mickey Mouse that I bought for him at WDW!!!

So, go and have a great time with your hubby!!! I'm sure you guys need some away time from family life and just to be with each other!! Just make sure you bring them back lots of stuff!!! LOL!!!:rotfl:

Been with kiddos, been without, Disney is for everyone!

just took 1st trip w/o (at least since honeymoon!) this year and it was pure bliss! We got to do so much!

warning tho, you will be returning and wanting to take kids next time and then go again without them and then take them again. . . you see how this works?!

Have a guilt free magical blast!

there is no right or wrong here !! GO, enjoy, take the kids another time...I swap years...last year it was me..this year with kids and mine are grown now!!! Have a magical vacation!!!

If we had someone who could watch the kids for a few days, we would go by ourselves in a minute.

Here is my WDW schedule for this year. . .going in August with kid and extended family. Solo adult trip during free dining at the latter part of September, going in December with my DS for a birthday trip. . .

I say go for it. Sometimes you can get away at less crowded times when you go without the kiddos. . .

Go for it. My Dh and I have gone twice without the kiddies. It is a different and magical experience.

Have a blast and enjoy each other!!!

(I'm already trying to figure out when it will be OK for us to leave the kids (now 4 and 3) with their grandparents for 4 or 5 days, so hubby and I can go alone for the Food and Wine Fest!)

If you don't have a problem with it, no one else should either...(aside from your kids who might be :sad1:  :furious: )

I personally enjoy taking my kids, and have never went without them since they have been born, BUT...My husband and I are already planning on going once they are grown and out of the house.

I would say it is ok, but I know my kids would be sad.

Our first time I had a conference in Orlando off property that just hubby ad I went to. We only had one day in the parks.

It was great to scout it out quickly. We have taken the entire family there every year since.

It is extremely important for couples to have time alone without the kids. It is a time to rediscover and remember what drew you together as a couple in the first place. The place you are choosing to be together is Disney, which just happens to be a favorite of children. People are focusing on your location choice, and not on the fact that you need to be alone. I am sure many of them also cannot fathom wanting to go to Disney without kids. They would choose a beach resort, or skiing, or something different, so they simply cannot picture your choice and that is why they are questioning your choice.

You are going to have an absolute blast on this adult trip, and my guess is the minute you get home you will be planning your return trip with the kids. If there is anyway possible to let the kids know you will be going back with them in the near future I would tell them. A Disney trip with kids does not have to cost a fortune. We are cutting costs by staying off site and cooking dinner each night at the rental house.

Have fun!!!

Go for it, and have fun!
My parents used to go on vacation without me and my sister all the time.
They would go with all my Aunts and Uncles and some friends, and we would stay with my Grandma.
But they would always bring us back stuff :)

I highly recommend it. we've done it twice and they were the best trips we have ever had. Don't get me wrong we love going and taking our children, but it's a whole different experience as just a couple.

Sounds like a great idea I would do it if I could - But who would take my 1, 2, 5 year olds? I wish I had someone. I could use a little time wihtout the kids. Go for it!
