I'm a non-frequent flyer...so sorry if this is a silly question.
When Delta says I can check in two pieces of luggage, that is technically four in our case, right? (DD6 and Myself at two a piece) I'm just wondering just in case. Right now we have two pieces and one very small carry on piece.Thanks.

Yep you are correct! Your 6yr can even bring a carry on if you like ( back pack with activities). Have a great trip!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

Watch the weight of the 2 pieces. Most airlines will charge for over 50 pounds per piece. I saw it happen at a Northwest counter last week.

Yup, you've got the right idea. You're each entitled to two pieces of checked luggage. You each are also entitled to bring one carry-on on the airplane, as well as one "personal item;" a personal item can be a pocketbook, camera bag, etc. When my wife and I flew to WDW last month with our 5 year old and 2.5 year old, we took 4 carry-ons with us, plus my wife's oversized pocketbook plus my video bag.

STRONG ADVICE: Pack in your carry-ons EVERYTHING you will need for about the first 24 hours of your trip, just in case there is any delay with your luggage. I've read on this board plenty of people complaining that things started out badly for them becuse their luggage took several hours to arrive via DME. I had no such problem because for each of us I packed a bathing suit, PJs, change of clothes for the next day, toiletries, medications, etc. Our luggage arrived at Caribbean Beach Resort 4 hours after we did, but when it arrived we were at the pool enjoying ourselves not caring at all when the luggage arrived. I pack like this EVERY time I fly, because the airlines are perfectly capable of losing or delaying your luggage without DME. Just plan ahead and be smart and have a magical time!
