Am I understanding RoL dining packages correctly?

Years ago we did the Fantastic DP...dinner at Mama Melrose's and then walked over to be seated for Fantasmic.

I thought that's the way RoL packages were set up as well - with dinner at Tiffin's or Tusker House. Then I read something yesterday about breakfast at TH qualifying as a package to see RoL. So how does that work? You have breakfast, go about your day in the parks and then return about an hour before the show time and your MB will scan that you had the package so you are admitted to the package section of seats?

And I know I could find this somewhere...but what is the price difference between TH breakfast and TH breakfast+RoL package? Thank you!

That's how dining packages work in general:eat and then go to the show much later. Although when we did them at DHS they gave us paper tickets (no MBs back then). I don't think they schedule dining packages for dinner that close to the shows any more.

Ok good to know. I guess those in the group that want to go back for RoL can get the breakfast+package and those not going back can just get breakfast. I'm afraid with little ones and relying on Disney transportation from Poly and back, it will be too late of a night for the preschool crowd. We are going to stick closer to the resort for evening events with the kids.

Not sure but if you are talking about you all eating together ....
... when you are booking the ROL Dining Package it is an independent reservation ...
... then you would need to book the non-ROL for a regular ADR.
It is not like it's a choice on arrival.

If on the DDP, then you could all get the package (it's 1 TS credit at Tusker whether you get the package or not), and those who don't want to see RoL can just not go.

If you are paying OOP, then, if everyone is on the same reservation, then you all would have to pay for the package, or none get it. Package is about $7 more per person than a non-package ADR (could be off by a few dollars, didn't look it up).

You could also make 2 separate reservations, one with the package, and one without. If you manage to get the 2 reservations at about the same time (within 5-10 minutes), when you check in, you can request to have all of you seated together, or at least at tables next to each other. They will try to accommodate this, if it is possible (but, no guarantees here).

Thanks - two separate reservations is the way we will go. Likely only 4 out of 10 will go to the show. If we can't all be seated together at breakfast that will be ok.
