Am I the only person who is missing Tapestry?

I have the music from the Tapestry of Nations parade at Epcot on a CD which I listen to frequently on my way to work in the mornings. I really miss this parade with all the interaction between the unique "puppets" and the children/adults in the crowd. I first saw this parade prior to 9/11 when there were three units and the parade reached all the way around Showcase Lagoon. Post 9/11 when the parade had been reduced to only one unit, it was still wonderful to watch and you just couldn't stand still when the music was playing and everyone just kind of bounced along in rhythm. Anyone know if it will ever return to Epcot? Surely they still have all the costumes and puppets.

Sorry, not a big fan of tapestry at all. Thought it clogged up epcot too much. And really didn't like the parade either. :confused3 Guess we just don't get it. Glad you enjoyed it thou.

I also think it's time to re-do illuminations. I liked the original but the globe movie and story is a bit much after seeing it so many times. Prefer more fireworks, and less talk.

I really LOVED it too! When you really listen to the words to the parade, they were really heartfelt and touching! My daughter loved the interaction too! Really miss that one!

Tapestry of Dreams is one of my favorite memories at Disney!! It was pure magic for my family, especially my 4 year old (at the time) - of course, Epcot is our favorite park and to see the look on her face with that wonderful music in the background was a very special moment. I miss it dearly!

We managed to see it only once and really loved it.I always thought the music was wonderful and the parade characters were totally unique.I can't understand why disney puts so much into something to just put it away.I really hope they decide to bring back some version of it again. :confused3

We miss Tapestry also. I loved the music, we still listen to the CD.

I completely agree that Illuminations could use a make-over. (But don't tell that to my dh - it's his absolute favorite. ;) )

Count us in the group that misses Tapstery of Nations Parade. It was so different. We also listen to the CD constantly. A few weekends ago I was transferring some old digital pictures from disc to CD and came across some pictures from the parade. They certainly brought back memories.
I think it was one of those things that you either really liked or you had no use for it. We fall into the really liked it group!

Yeah, I miss it, loved the drummers. It was the perfect combination with Illuminations.

Not missed here at all. We visit WDW 4-6 trips a year and hated not being able to leisurely stroll around WS in the evenings in fear of the masking tape bandits. Maybe if EPCOT had not jammed it down our throats and kept it in a certain section once an evening, it would not have gotten so much negative responses. Instead it ran several different areas, twice an evening....way too much. Glad to see it go.

We LOVED it! Made a point to hop to Epcot several nights on each trip just to see it. We used the advice gleaned from the DIS and would stake out our spot on a bench near Germany. We could see one parade begin and head to the right and the other parade ending coming at us from the left - 2 for 1! One time when we were on an Illuminations Cruise with a group of DISers, we got to see it from the water as it marched over the International Bridge between France and England. THAT was the best! We saw both Tapestry of Nations, and when that ended, Tapestry of Dreams. We have the CD and I listen to it often while I'm here on the DIS!

We loved ToD and ToN. Miss them both! We were at WDW in 2003 for the last run of ToD... the CMs were so emotional.

Two things really missed at WDW: Tapestry of Nations/Dreams at Epcot and the Hunchback show at MGM.

Oh yeah, definitely! We all LOVED Tapestry! I think it is the best parade I have ever seen. Where can you get the CD? I have often wondered if they sold such a thing.

I miss "Tapestry" parade also, along with other attractions that have been updated (Journey into Imagination ride with Figment and Dreamfinder, Horizons, World in Motion, Spaceship Earth)

I have always wondered why Disney couldn't add new attractions to the parks instead of replacing ones that were still popular. :confused3

I love Test Track and Mission Space, but I also liked the older rides and would have preferred that they keep them. I thought that "Walt" had enough room for expansion? That being said, am looking forward to "Soarin" as soon as I can.

I'm so sorry to hear that its gone :( . I learned the work "magic" that first night we were watching. The puppet laid her hand on my DD's head and the look of wonder on her face is something I will never forget,......darn parade brought me to tears. :flower:

I miss it, too!!! Might just be my favorite parade, I know it had the BEST music!! Let's start a peitition to BRING TAPESTRY OF NATIONS BACK!!! :goodvibes :dancer:

I loved it- and I'm SO glad we got to see it on our first trip (ever) to WDW. :)
