Am I the only one?

We're going in July! Dh teaches, so we don't have a choice. So it's hot and crowded, who cares, we're going to Disney World! :teeth:

Besides, there is just something about going to Florida in the summer that sounds so nice! LOL!

I don't let all of the negative reviews about July get to me. We can't go any other time, so I'm just planning, planning, planning, and am going to make the best of it!

This is our 1st trip in the summer (June) we have for the past 9 yrs or so went in January, weather is unpredicable could be 75 could be 30 and we have had both. we can't wait for the heat!!! we are from Michigan and it rarely gets that hot here. 90 is a day here and there. so we can't wait for the water parks etc.

Add me to the list of summer in FL lovers. In August, it's hot everywhere, as long as I'm in Disney the heat won't be as bad.

We always go in August, except for this past Easter break for a short trip. I actually prefer August. I like the heat, plus we like the beach and Easter break the beach was FREEZING!!!!!

You hear alot of people say you are crazy for going in July? The crowds and heat are awful. Am I the only that doesn't mind going at that time?

We went during July and August for years but we have found the pleasure of Jan and Sept and will no be going back to a July or August trip anytime soon.

The only reason why we are going for a quick trip in June is for Project X.

hum.. we went for 5 days last 4th of July and I can say it will be quite awhile before we do that again. It was very hot and crowded everywhere you went. With two small kiddos- it wasnt for us.

We're going at the end of July. We're used to the heat and humidity after living in Houston forever. Like everyone else said, who cares about the crowds/heat, as long as you're there.

I went to WDW in July when I still lived in the cool Northwest. The heat didn't bother me. The main thing was to do things early, take a break mid-day, and go back early evening. I would take July any day over Spring Break, even with the heat. :sunny:

We always go in July and we love it! Parks are open late, not a lot of attractions closed for rehabs, and who wants to go to Floriday when its too cold to swim! THis year we'll be there for the 4th of July (usually go the middle of July) and we can't wait!

Yet another teacher here.

We've been in late August and late June/early July and had a great time, and I may go for a few days this July. I've said many times I'd rather be sweltering hot than miserably cold, so I revel in the heat whenever I get the chance! Crowds were better in August, but good strategizing (hitting parks early, using Fastpass, getting to the big attractions first, etc) makes that less of an issue. As someone has already said, hey, you're at Disney - I'll go anytime!

We went last year right after the 4th of July and really the crowds weren't that awful the first 4 days. Maybe there was a lull between the 4th crowds and the mid summer crowds. The last 2 days we noticed it was very busy with long waits so you had to use fastpass. We also went to a few e nights so that really helped. I wonder if they will bring back e nights even though they have the extended hours in place. One can hope. :flower:

Ill go any time I can...and Id much prefer July weather over the cold temps we had in December. ;)

We went last July for a week. Using FPs and EE we spent very little time waiting in lines. We are going again this year for a weekend in July and cant wait.

On a funny note we once spent 1 day, July 3rd, in WDW before we went on a cruise. When we called home to check on the kids, everyone there was dying with the heat and humidity. It was unbearable up here in Boston that day, but very comfortable in Orlando, LOL!

We've always gone in July. I prefer it. Going back this July!

We have friends that always go 'Jersey week' and a few years ago, they went in August as they had won some free nites and they had to use them by 9/30. They came back and said...yes, it was hot and humid but a whole other world going and having the nights to play! They had a blast and said that it was worth going in the heat and humidity to have the extended hours. It was then that it occured to me that Disney isn't open late all year round.

I"m a teacher too, so August works best for us. We from NY so school starts after Labor Day. My other states the school years starts in Aug.I find in August, yes it's hot but the crowds are a bit lighter and it even off season for hotel rates ::MinnieMo

School nurse here - same problems as teachers!

We've been going in July now for a few years due to my job and kids in school (especially high school). We like it for the pools, longer hours and fewer attractions down for rehab. Prepare for rain, wear comfortable sandals, and bring a light jacket for when you get stuck in rain and then go into air conditioning!

OK, so since most of you..or all, go in the summer, what do you think about this...

We are there in late June, and I am planning our schedule around the EMHs, meaning we will be there during those days, like Thursday is Epcots, so we will go to Epcot (Evening EMH) that day. The Unofficial Guide says to avoid these parks on these days. What do you all say about this?

We would like to get there before park opening, stay until we can't take it anymore...crowds or heat.....figuring lunch time. Then resort until after dinner time, then back to the park until as late as we all last. Figure with it dark, it would be cooler and hopefully less people. So, do I believe the Unofficial Guide and avoid the park with EMH (morning or evening) or stick with my schedule?

Your plan sounds like the perfect way to tour and it's exactly the way we're doing it. If you start early, you'll do so much more (from what I've read!) and then miss the crazy crowds mid-day. I think that the UOG is really talking to those who do not take advantage of the EE. :confused3

Since we live in South Texas the heat is no big deal to us, the crowds don't bother us either, we always enjoy ourselves just being together at the happiest place on earth.

Count me as one of those people that don't mind going in the "hot & crowded" summer months. I'm like a lot of other posters, I'm a teacher. So, I'm not left with a lot of choices of when to go. We are going for the first time in December, the week before Xmas. We'll see how that goes.

With the parks being open later, we simply go early, come back for a afternoon break and go back to the parks in the evening. We always have a great time.
