You hear alot of people say you are crazy for going in July? The crowds and heat are awful. Am I the only that doesn't mind going at that time?

I don't mind either :sunny: . I am a teacher so I go when I can. It's a LONG way to WDW for me so I can't just hop over for a few days. It is a big deal and July is the best time for me.

You also get the benefit of long park hours.

We always go in Aug. Of course it's hot but we don't mind. I'd love to go when the weather is cooler but going in the summer works best for us. We take it easy, we enjoy the resort pool and all the restaurants.

One of our trips each year is always in July. I love to go then! :goodvibes

I always go in July. I always complain about the heat and then I book in July again the next time. LOL! I love the extended hours and knowing there's going to be a evening parade every night.

:sunny: July is just fine with me! We've gone in June-July-August and yes, it's hot...yes, there's crowds...but any time is Disney time!

I think I became accustomed to the heat on my very first trip. It was in August and I was 8 months pregnant. I figure if I could do it then, I surely can do it now!

DW is a teacher, so travel is limited to Jun-Jul-Aug. On our last trip, third week of August, temps in Orlando area were actually a few degrees cooler than back home, and humidity is about the same. All in all, I'd rather be in the heat riding Splash Mountain and Space Ranger Spin than in comparable heat cutting grass, pulling weeds and painting the fence back home. :sunny:

Add me to the list of thos who go in the summer - last year was July, the year before August and this year we are headed down in June. My wife is a teacher so that is what works, and any time is a great time in our book! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

This will be our 3rd wdw trip in July this year. Beleive me, after freezing my butt all winter long in Canada I gladly take the heat in Florida. So no complaining coming from me. Besides, the pools and waterparks are great in July. The overall atmosphere cannot be beat. It's dark later and the park hours are longer. Works for me!

We have always only gone in August. In August - anyplace is hot. ;)

Besides, I'm a warm weather girl so I love it!

Our last trip was in August and everyone told me I was crazy. I didn't find it that hot or that crowded at all although it did rain a little more than I would have liked. Guess I was just so thrilled to be there.

This Aug at WDW is a few firsts for DS13 & myself:

first time to WDW in summer
first mother/son WDW vacation
first 2wk vacation - EVER

and - we have another 2wk Disney vacation planned for next Aug - wk at WDW followed by wk on DCL (which is already booked)

we better like Florida in August!

We're going in July also....and I learned something very valuable last summer. We went on a Disney cruise in Aug/Sept, to the western caribbean. It was extremely hot and humid. The thing I learned is: If we didn't melt THEN, we will not melt in July in Florida :sunny:

I've made 2 PSs per day so we won't have to fight the crowds to eat, we have only a handful of must-do's for each park so we can take it slow, and we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian which will make it very easy to get back to the resort midday, for a swim, nap, or whatever :)

Another teacher here. I don't mind July either. In fact, if you go late enough the crowds usually aren't that bad. I remember a few years ago we walked on to lots of things at MK and used fastpass and hardly ever waited for anything.

This year we are going July 8-17 and I'm a little worried about the crowds since we will be getting there at the end of 4th of July week.

ive gone in july in 04 and 03. i have no problems with it. crowds really arnt THAT bad. And the heat doesnt bother me, i mean, im having too much fun to care about being a little sticky.

Last summer we were there from July 3-11 and it was busy but not crazy. We saw bigger crowds the week following Easter. This summer we'll be visiting a month later, in August. I'm not a big fan of heat or humidity but I can handle it better in Disney! :sunny:

We're going in July and while DH is a bit freaked out by all the talk of crowds, heat and rain, I am just so ecstatic to be going to WDW that I don't even care!!!! :flower:

We are going in August and get looked at like we are crazy...it's too HOT :sunny: says everyone, it's too Crowded, they say.

We always take vacation in august, no matter where we go...we were in WDW in aug. '01 and aug. '02, we survived. I wish I had these boards back then, only just found them, but learning some neat cooling off tips.

Go and enjoy!

I love going in july and August! I don't work in the summer so I can stay for as long as I want. Plus I like going away and not having to be back at work the next day. I'm hoping to go back in July this year :flower:

We usually go in one of the summer months because we can stay longer then. We usually go to a park first thing in the morning, take a long afternoon swim / nap / relax in air conditioning, then go back to a park for a while in the evening. It's hot, but I'd rather be hot then cold :cold:
