So we're hoping to go to Disney last week of January. Hubby and I decided to go ahead and book dining Just In Case. We sat down to make our choices, and just about everywhere we picked is somewhere we've been before! There were a few new ones we wanted to try, but we like the old ones so much, we don't know what to take out! Are there others out there like us?

Here's what we're planning for TS and how many times we've been there:
Cali Grill ( twice-I could do without it, but it's hubby's bday, and his favorite)
OHana dinner (3 times)
Tusker House breakfast (once but did Breakfastasauras once and basically the same thing)
Biergarten (3 times)
Coral Reef (new)
Sci-Fi Diner (new)
Also remembered we wanted to go back to WCC which we LOVED last year, and can't decide what needs to go-probably Sci Fi! HELP!!

We've done LeCellier (5 or 6 times...lost count), Biergarten (4 times), Rose & Crown (3 times), Coral Reef (once), Plaza Restaurant (4 times), Sci-Fi (twice), 50's Prime Time (twice). We did Whispering Canyon Cafe last month and won't go back. We thought the food was terrible (overrated) and DH got sick eating the ribs and chicken in the skillet; I didn't get sick because they were the only two things I didn't eat out of it--I didn't like the first bunch of stuff and stopped eating it.

We also like Boma, Teppan Edo and for CS, Flame Tree. I've nerver been to chef Mickey's, but with little ones, you may want to try it for the characters. Happy eating!

We also tend to go to the places we love, but this trip we decided to do half places we love and half new places. (BTW, we also love WCC.)
We are going to
WCC (our first night tradition)
Kona (new)
50sPT (we were there once and loved it, but have not been back in some time so it's almost new!)
Cali Grill (new, and jus DH and I)
Chef Mickey's Thanksgiving dinner and last breakfast before we leave (both tradition)
CRT (tradition)
LeCellier (new)
Akerhaus (new)

This way we figured we'd be sure to get some meals we love plus we'd try some new places that could be new family favorites. If nothing else we tried soe new experiences. If you never try new places you'll never find your new favorite place. Happy eating!!!

We are exactly the same way. Fortunately we have enough favorites to mix 'em up each trip.

i know what you mean! the restaurants we haven't tried tend to be the most expensive ones (tho we really enjoyed california grill and flying fish) --- for instance, we have reservations for italy but seeing that they charge $14 or $16 dollars for a ceasar salad just makes me mad  and i always get a salad at dinner! we are looking forward to trying citricos but we keep going back to kona, biergarten, boma, raglan road and teppan edo.
let us know what you decide!

The same things happens to us, too! Don't worry, it's not just you! Honestly...I was just reading on another thread that several people are upset with Ohana because they changed their dinner menu, so it might not be the great experience you are remembering it to be. I've been to Sci-Fi a few times and the last experience was less than so-so. The service was great but I just was not impressed with the food at all. I would change the Sci-Fi to Mama Melrose's (we had a GREAT experience there in March, the food was fantastic IMO) and I would change the Ohana dinner to WCC. We have made reservations at Biergarten twice and never actually made it to our ressie. I'm excited for our next trip so that we can hopefully try it out finally!

DH and I took the plunge for our trip in Dec. We are only eating at one place we've been before....House of Blues. Everything else is new to us:

Jiko
San Angel Inn
Sci Fi Dine In
Artist Point
Boma
ESPN Club

We ate lunch at Sci-fi for the 1st time last Friday. We ordered one side of O-rings to share, & burgers w/ fries. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. More than that, we enjoyed the fact that it wasn't ear splitting loud in there. We probably wouldn't go for dinner, but we'll definitely be returning for lunch. We also ate breakfast at TH & thought it was much better than breakfast at CP. :thumbsup2

As for us, we always go to Les Chefs de France. Other than that, we choose a mix of old & new. Next trip, we'll be returning to LCdF & Hollywood Brown Derby for dinner & Sci-fi for lunch. The other places we'll be trying are new to us, or are places we haven't been to in a long time.

Every time I say we could take something out, Hubby replies it's tradition. I could leave out Ohana, but "it's tradition." My kids aren't terribly into character meals, so we do the one b'fast at AK mainly for us, Hubby's family is from Austria and his mom took him and his sisters there last month to meet long-lost relatives, so we HAVE to do Biergarten again. Basically every place we love, we rationalize how special it is to us. I guess we're just going to have to do a 14 day trip sometime so we can have time to do some new places!!! :cool1:

We rae like you. We were going to stick with what we know. I took a leap and booked all new places this year!!!! Fingers crossed!
