I just joined the boards and I am glad to be here, however, am I the only one who has difficulty reading and deciphering those cryptic, rorshach test - like, secret codes one must enter to access more and more websites these days.

Thank you so much for your reply. What I am referring to though, is that series of squiggly numbers and letters, usually found in a box, that allows one to enter or join a website, or buy tickets online, etc. On this site, it can be found on the registration page.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

The websites are doing that these days as a measure against the "robots" that automatically log someone on to a site and begin spamming the site.

Some of the measures are relatively easy to read. Others -- at a "moderate" setting -- put up a little "noise" in the reading field that makes it a bit more difficult. However, some, with security setting at high, present near illegible numbers/letters to see and input. And, of course, if you get it wrong, they give you a different set of just as illegible items to try to decipher and put in the box so that you can finish your initial application.

At least you can celebrate that you got on board here. You can make that one of the items to celebrate this Thanksgiving Day!
