Am I the ONLY one who doesn't get the CROC craze?

Crocs aren't the cutest shoes around but trust me your feet, legs and back will appreiciate them! This last trip to WDW I made the mistake of wearing my broken in tennis shoes the first day and I paid the price for it. My feet and legs were killing me! I decided I didn't care how they looked I knew my feet and legs couldn't hurt any worse the second day so I decided to wear the crocs. It was a test for me to see if the crocs were as good as people had mentioned they were. They were fantastic. A few days later it dawned on me how long I had gone without my feet hurting. I will wear my crocs during our 2007 trip also.
Try them you might like them!

Since starting with with board last month, I bought a pair of Crocs (Athens) and also a pair of Salomon Techamphibia shoes (at more than twice the price). The Athens, even as flip flops, are so comfortable that I have no leg/foot pains in my 3 miles of walking to/from the train for work every day. When it's too cold for the flip flops, I wear the Soloman - no where near the same level of comfort. So, as ugly as they are, I guess I'll be buying a pair of the regular Crocs next. Not quite sure what my DH will say when he sees them...

As long as you all keep wearing crocs nobody thinks my Keens are all that ugly.
Thank you croc lovers :thumbsup2

Now let me start off by saying that I have not tried on the REAL Crocs...only the WalMart and Payless knockoffs. I can honestly say that these are not what I expected. I expected to put these things on and my feet be in instant heaven, however, I did not feel like that. I was disappointed.

I have tried to make myself fall in love with these things, but I can't... every time I go somewhere that has them I try a pair on, and not only are they not that comfortable they are just UGLY. REALLY UGLY. :rotfl:

I just can't do it. AM I THE ONLY ONE?? :confused3

I'm with you!

They're just not my style.

I love Lands' End sea to shore shoes- they're lightweight and actually cute! I have them in coral, sky blue, and white. I will probably buy more.

I just looked the sea to shore shoes up. They are kind of cute, but look like a good, comfortable shoe. Good price, too.
I wish they had them for boys. The functionality sounds perfect for my active one.

I just don't know about the Crocs...btw, I noticed they were selling them in my grocery store! Name brand, not knock offs. Must be gaining tremendous popularitiy :confused3
I need good arch support or my feet hurt. Anyone else have that issue and find crocs comfy?

I too tried on Crocs (the real ones) and thought they were ugly. I tried them because everyone said how comfy they were. One foot rubbed in the back and the other was OK. They were light weight, but I did feel silly with them on and left them in the store. I also watch What not to wear, but I may be told what I wear isn't appropriate either. Since I am a stay at home mom I prefere jeans and tee shirts, with sneakers. I am thinking of keens, look Ok but I wasn't sure if they were me.

Does anyone have the Athens (flip flop style) Crocs? They only had the Beach style at the sports store for me to try on. I was wondering if the different styles fit or were sized differently. I know I can order the Athens online but would love to know the right sizing or actually try some on. The 6-7 just fit but the 8-9 really seemed big. I usually have to buy an 8 because of wide feet so I'm really a 7 1/2

Not sure is someone has answered you yet.. I bought a pair of Athens about a week ago.. I wear a 7 1/2 normally.. but bought beach crocs in a small. I got the athens in blue in size Men's 5 and they are heaven! hope that helps!

Me wear Crocs? That's never going to happen.
In the heat, I swear by many pairs of flipflops. For me, flip flops are the only things that save my feet and legs with all the walking at WDW.
--Seeing as I don't paint my toenails or wear a toe ring, it would have to be comfort. I have wide feet and high arches so I love the warm weather when I can stop wearing shoes (which are hard to find that are comfortable with my feet).

:cool1:  :cheer2:

I got my dd(5) a pair of the Airwalks knockoffs from Payless and she loves them. We have such a hard time finding shoes for her. Most times we make it about 30 minutes and she is already complaining that her feet hurt. We were at the zoo last weekend and walked around for half a day and never heard a word from her. On a 5 year old they are cute....on her 35 year old mom.....I don't think so.

eeeek mlwear-- thats me- i wear skirts all the time to disney- some of them designer
not real fancy but the long, soft, flowy kind...with flip flips (not heels!) and a little tank top. i find skirts to be more comfortable than shorts. i always have. i just "hike it up" when i getting on the rides! ;)

that is probably why i dont like crocs-- they just dont go with the skirts! :rotfl:

I wonder... I have a long bright pink, orange, white pleated broom skirt that is really comfortable. I wonder how it would look with my hot pink Crocs? Um?

Both times we have gone to WDW my DD5 has gotten awful blisters.....we have tried all kinds of shoes on this kids feet and blisters, blisters, blisters. She is going to Niagra Falls w/grandparents over Easter and I don't know what she is going to wear on her feet. I agree crocs are ugly but if they will save her feet then I'm willing to try them (that is if she is willing to try them ha ha). Would love to hear from any1 that gets blisters easily and has changed to crocs for comfort.

My Croc Niles gave me blisters twice (on the ball of my foot and also just below the big toe), but the Beach and Aspens are great. I personally prefer the Aspens, but my 73 y/o mom swears by her Beach (and she has Niles and Aspens also). We each own five pairs of Crocs and yeah I agree they're ugly, but some things are so ugly that they're cute after a while (all right after a LONG while).

No you aren't the only one. I think that they are the most butt-ugly things to ever exist in fashion.

To all of you who are so devoted to crocs, more power to ya!!! To the OP, NOPE!!! you are NOT alone!! I don't get them either...I mean my sister wears them, but she is a NURSE!! I've tried them on...tried to like them, especially the flip floppy looking one...AWFUL. My little sister wore a pair after she got her cast off her broken ankle... :confused3 I'm sorry y'all but I find them so ugly and uncomfortable!!! It may be that my feet are weird...I am spoiled by birkenstocks I guess...but i do NOT get the croc thing. I think kids look really cute in them though and was thinking I'd get a pair for my soon2B step daughter! (can't buy birks for kids...it's a waste of money b/c they can only wear them for a short while till they are too small!!! I can swing a pair of kid crocs though!! :rotfl: )

I agree that these are the ugliest things1 I could never even bring myself to try a pair on, much less buy them. I lvoe my Earth Shoes and will probably be buying those forever. They mold to your feet to and are so comfortable. I have never had a problema nd have been buying them for 5 yrs now. If you want comfortable and cute, go Earth Shoes. Walmart sells the sandals for men, women, and children. Tons of colors and designs.

I think Crocs are ugly as sin. I will wait for this fad to move on and stick with my J. Crew flip flops for my WDW feet. They are the most comfortable thing I have ever put on my feet! :cool1:

I agree that crocs are pretty ugly but after walking around in my new balance sneaks all day and getting a big blister, I switched to my LL Bean Teva type sandels...still painful. SOOOOOOO then I searched for crocs on our "down day" and couldn't find them soo I broke down and I bought Knock off Crocs at the Pro Bass Shop in Orlando and now my feet don't want anything else on them :clown: Yup, look like a clown but I feel really happy :yay: My kids switched to the payless crocs type shoes that we bought in Orlando on the same "down day"and nobody complained when we walked around EPCOT all day and night!!! And yes, we all wore socks and no we were not hot. I wore cool max socks (short ones). :rolleyes1 I should have bought the "real" crocs at Dicks before we left for Disney but I was too proud to be so unfashionable at that time. DH wore his Tevas and nary a word of complaint from him. :goodvibes DD10 was counting crocs at MK all day...I think she only counted 15 or 20 people in them but I can tell you I think they had the biggest smiles all day. :lmao:

Crocs don't fit my feet. Nor do Birkenstocks, Keens, Easy Spirit, and many other brands that come so highly recommended. Everyone has different shaped feet.

As for the aesthetics... :sad2:

I just brought a pair of keen venice shoes. I think the crocs look ugly, but the more I look at them they are growing on me. However, my 8 yr old daughter informed me they are the latest (she doesn't no the difference between airwalks and crocs), and that she wants a pair.

Thank goodness there are other people who think crocs are butt-ugly. They remind me of something that a garden gnome would wear. They make people's feet look huge like clown shoes or something. I don't care if they are like walking on clouds...I wouldn't be caught dead in them. I am a flip flops girl through and through. I love painting my toenails and when you wear crocs you can't show off painted toes. :thumbsup2
