Not on Dining plan but still doing TS Dinners and a couple Character Breakfasts..... Kids ages 1 & 4, DH and me!

Does everyone do the dining plan??

We went last year during free dining and didn't do the free dining. We eat at more counter services than we do table services anyway, which is just fine with us. We DID do a couple of table services while we were there and plan to do the same this year.

We don't use the dining plan as it doesnt really work for us. However we did use it when it was free last year and it was great. But it wouldnt be worth it if we had to pay for it. ;)

Don't do it and never will. I know some people on the DIS swear by it, but all I've ever seen is confusion and frustration when seeing guests at the parks using it. I don't need that on vacation.

No dining plan for us either.... We just don't eat that much. DH and I picked some places we'd like to try and I picked one as a surprise for DD ... We are doing three TS and one character and we are there for 8 days.

We chose NOT to have to deal with the Dining Plan either. It doesn't benefit our family. Just works out that way for us:goodvibes

Nope, we actually came out ahead by NOT using it on our last trip. Part of that is I'm a vegetarian (my meals are much cheaper) and also we don't really like to eat that much when it's hot. So we couldn't "maximize" our credits on the DDP by ordering the most expensive appetizers, entrees and desserts all the time.

We used the DDP once, but DDE works much better for us. We don't care much for CS and don't need a dessert with each meal.

Nope - never would consider it! It's too much planning, and we don't eat that much either. Almost never order dessert, and we prefer to eat on the go also. Maybe one or two table service restaurants per week long trip, but sometimes we do none! Plus, we prefer to choose where to eat (some places like Kimono's at the Swan/Dolphin are are faves).

Not for us; I don't mind the planning but don't like the cost, the forced CS for lunch and forced feeding at dinner. I thought about using it for a one-night stay before our cruise last year, but then realized that we had reservations at Yachtsman Steakhouse (which uses 2 TS credits). So even for one night it wouldn't work!

Don't worry -- in 2008 we'll have a lot more company as non-DDP people!

No Dining Plan either...I'm an AP holder and will be getting a DDE soon.

Plus, there is no way I can eat an Appy, Entree, & Dessert at every TS meal I go to.

We were able to get the dining plan free last August. It was a LOT of food! DH and DS17 liked it because they are both bottomless pits, but it was just too much food for me and DD15.

DH and I will be there in Sept during free dining. We will not be using the plan because free dining is not available to us as DVC members. Previously on two trips we used the dining plan. We were not happy with it. I really don't like counter service meals which I was forced to eat once a day. Also I did not feel we were dining at the locations that we really wanted. We were dining at the locations where we perceived the best value to be. Also sometimes I like to go to a table service restaurant and just get a soup or appetizer. That does not work well on the dining plan. Our most recent trip this past May we were not on the plan and I was much happier. We had the DDE card instead which worked great. We will be using the DDE card for our Sept trip as well.

We're doing the dining plan because we wanted to try it and it turned out to be free, which is great! When we go back in November, we can't use the dining plan because we won the trip. We'll see which way we like it better if we ever go back after that.
