The stupid Disney Club FINALLY comes out with a really good deal in the last six months of their existence - after many folks - obviously including myself - no longer are members? We're told we can't renew after December and then they come up with a deal NOW? I've already planned a great trip to Universal and I wouldn't have changed anyway - but I've got a good friend here at work that really could have used that deal - but since we no longer have a DC here at work she can't join it now. The DC so called "benefits" were a joke for the last 3 years and now that noone can join it they finally come up with something good. It just really chaps my behind:mad:

I'm disappointed too - we have no plans to go to WDW right now, I wish we did though.

Rumor has it the package will be open to everyone on Sunday.

The package doesn't help me out this time, since I have APs good through November. But I hope they have something similar to it in 2004.

What is Fairytale Magic? Did I miss something? I'm still a DC member.

My DC would have run out in Oct but last December they let me pay for a renewal until Dec. only a few bucks.

Fairytale Magic is Disney's newest "discount package". It became available this morning for DC members and will open up to the public on May 11th. In short, you pay for 4 days for your room and UHP and get 3 days room and UHP free. It is good from July 4 - October 30. No room only codes, you have to buy it as a package deal room & tickets.

It's a new promotion from Disney that offers you nights free. Here's a link for more info:

Contact the Disney Club... if your membership expired less than 6 months ago, you can still renew.

I just renewed mine which expires at the end of this month for $17 and change.

The package is open to everyone on Sunday. They offered it early as a benefit to DC members, who, face it, haven't benefitted much from their membership in the last few years (that's why I let mine lapse.) I doubt that the packages will sell out in five days. Hang in there, you'll get your package, and without shelling out the dough for renewing your dc membership.

Are you sure it will be open to the public on Sunday? Mine expired in January - so I'm sure I could renew. This sounds too good to pass up. Now if we could find a great airfare!!:teeth: :teeth:

I have been planning on a trip to WDW for months from July 13-20th. Well the Ap rates finally came out for up to 7/3 and I booked in case nothing better came out. Well here comes Fairytale Magic. My DC expired less than a week ago and I had no plans to renew... until this. I had to renew just to get pricing. It was only around $17.00 but the pricing is worse than the AP rate I had for 7/3-12. I basically renewed for no reason.
And to make matters worse this package will take all availabe rooms and so no AP discount after 7/3. GGRRRRR!

Disney Debbie- My Disney Club expired in Feb and I just got the phone from renewing it with no problem for only 17.47!!!! They said my membership number stays the same and I'll get a new card in a couple weeks but I can use it now for the phone and internet!

Hope that helps you!

I booked this package this morning through DC and we have another family going with us that are not DC members so I inquired about them. First option is I can book their package under my card since I will be there at check in. BUT, it is going to be offered to the public this Sunday and the only difference I am aware of is that DC members get an additional $50 off total price and a pin and an artwork (not sure what it will be yet). But even with the additonal $50 more, it is still a great deal in my opinion and I usually book everything seperate to save money.

If you renew you DC for $17 and definitely book a package it is so worth it since the DC receive $50 off meaning the $50 pays for the pro-rated renew. I wish I was DC, never joined and decided to join on 12/29/2002 only to find out the dealine was a few weeks earlier.

Anyone who was a DC member, regardless of the expiration date of their membership could have renewed on a prorated basis until the end of December. Since we all had that option, I don't see much room to complain when they come out with an offer for DC when someone chose not to renew.

I never was one who thought the DC was a bad deal at all and was grateful to have the opportunity to renew. I more than paid for my membership with the savings each year and I'll be sorry to see it go. The credit card is not even close to being comparable!

While I'm not able to use the new offer ( I don't think it would have come close to beating what I have now anyway), I think it's nice that they gave DC members first shot at the new offer.

I agree Peachgirl. The Disney club more than paid for itself with the discounts at the Disney store and at Disney. And as a Disney Fan, I have a nice little card as a souvenir.

I never bought my disney club membership for the park discount. I bought it because I buy disney merchandise for everyone I know.

I have never used the club discount for a trip because it seems where we wanted to stay was always booked and we usually used our AAA for a better discount.

I made sure I got the club membership this year because it was the last and I wil miss it.

I am glad I finally received something "good" for having been a member for so many years.

I hope everyone out there gets the package they want with the discounts.

My daughter's wish has come true and she will be able to share that with her husband and baby son!

She finally get to stay in the AKL Savannah Dexlue!

I agree...DC was great while it lasted! And now I get to stay at the Wilderness Lodge (room with a view!) like I've always wanted to! May not be a big deal to some, but it is for me. :D

I'm so exited!:Pinkbounc
