Am I the only F&W nut job?

I am a total FW nut job! My kids and I have picked out 54 items that we want to try! That does not include the drinks that I will have to drink myself because DH is not coming this trip and the kids are 10 and 7! I'm going to go broke. I have budgeted $250 for two days:scared1: but I have a feeling that it will not be enough.

We are going in 14 days! Hope to see some of you there. We will be the ones arguing over the last bite.:goodvibes

I am not doing any of the seminars or parties because the kids can't do them. Maybe next year

I always love checking out all the kiosk offerings to see what items I wish to try. :goodvibes

We rescheduled this year for the Holiday time, to see the lights...etc. I'm sooooooooooooooo sad that I'm missing F&W though :( Even my husband said to me the other day 'okay....now the lights and everything will be great but next year it's back to September and October...right?' LOL We both enjoy F&W, I eat and he tries the different drinks....the kids love all the different foods too, and love that we get to eat in every country LOL.

I'm in the same boat with you! This is my first F&W but I've gotten all the info I can. I've printed out the lists of each kiosk's food items and have highlighted, taken notes, made plans on which pairings would work well together!

I'm not even much of a drinker, but some of the drinks available sound so yummy that I'm going to have to try more than a few of them!

Too exciting! :thumbsup2

\Ok, so where exactly do you find this info?? Thanks!! :thumbsup2

No! We are looking forward to the 1st postings with pictures and prices so we can map out everything! Can it please start already!?:thumbsup2

I'm going to try to be that first person! :thumbsup2 I'll be heading to Epcot on Sept 24th and I'm crossing my fingers for previews :goodvibes

Yea! Then just know that you will have two HAPPY people drinking along with your posts .. and thank you a head of time! I read something that the preview starts that day at 1pm! :thumbsup2

I'll be there the 24th too. I cant wait. My list is already made. :thumbsup2

I could literally try just about everything, but my must dos are

California Sushi roll - Japan
Mushroom soup - Austria
Cheddar Cheese soup - Canada
ANYTHING from Mexico
Pork Potstickers - China
Kerrygold cheese selection from Ireland.

 I'm sensing a theme here...can you tell that I LOVE cheese and I'm partial to soup? I'm beginning to wonder if my ADR at Teppan Edo that night was a mistake b/c I just want to eat FW food!!! :lmao: Nah, it's a 9:30...plenty of time for FW food and dinner...So excited b/c we have EMH that night!

OH.....and the beer hop....and the Sam Adams tent....:drinking1

I've printed the list and highlighted everything I want to try (yep, I'm a geek). I don't know how I'm going to squeeze in all of this food along with the free dining, but I'll give it my best:lmao:

Here's my top 5; if they have had these in the past and anyone has tried them, let me know if they are "thumbs up" or "thumbs down". I'd hate to waste precious stomach space . . . .

Spain: Taste of spain (serrano ham, chorizo, manchego, tomato bread)
Italy: polpetti
Argentina: grilled beef skewer w/ chimichurri sauce
Ireland: lobster and scallop fisherman's pie
Morocco: falafel pita pocket

Two more weeks of waiting . . . .:thumbsup2

I have the entire list highlighted :lmao: No way can I pick just a top 5!

Our fall plans have changed and we are going for just a long weekend so we will be in Epcot the entire time (well maybe skip Saturday because they can be mobbed) and I plan on chowing down! DH and I usually share one of everything and if we really enjoy it then we get a second one....but sometimes items can be a one bite throw-away and other items we fight over!

DH is thrilled that the Mouse Catch cheese booth is back, that place was incredible! Very excited to try the new Champagne/Dessert booth.

Am I the only freak that is dying to try all the food and drinks for the F&W booths? I cannot wait to get there! I keep going over and over the location of the booths and mapping out our day!

Oh no - last year I made little rating cards for each booth with food & wine. My DH and I then rated each item we tried. Then at the end of the week, we reviewed and picked up a bottle of our top 3 rated wines to bring home. It was a ton of fun!

I wish I was going this year - but we opted for Christmas time instead. It will be our first trip during the holidays.

We can be nut jobs together! I can't WAIT for F&W...I've also been drooling over all of the yummy food options. I'm chomping at the bit waiting to find out what the cost of beer hop card is! It tells you about the wine passport, but the beer hop is new!!!

Have you done this in the past? I see the wine pass is 20.00, what do you get for that? WDWInfo says it's say hand selected wines, but is it full glasses or like a little two ounces tasting cup? Also does anyone know about the beer pass?

I know some of you are way more experienced at this than me so here's my question.

Do you prefer to do your F & W noshing/sipping at lunch/afternoon or dinner/evening? We have done evening in the past and I really like Epcot at night plus its cooler - I think the food and alcohol would hit harder in the heat of the day. Is it more crowded at night?

I love the idea of rating the booths to remember your favorites and taking home the best wines.

very soon :cool1::cool1:

Loved Mouse Catch as well!!! We had some poor guy who couldn't work the portable computer/register....we were there so long...but we received an extra pour and extra cheese for being patient:)

Cannot wait for champagne/dessert...hope we dont miss any of our ADR's...:lmao:

No, I've just been a big fan of the FW :lmao: I can't wait for my first one! We're going on Sept. 28th. With the Wine passport my understanding is that for $20 you get to sample (so probably little glasses...2 oz may be right) 6 different selected wines. They have done this before. I love my wine and beer...but no mixing...that would be bad. The Beer Hop is new and the Disney website is pretty vague with details about it, so it doesn't give the cost yet. Everytime I go to Epcot I love to try different beers from around the "world" so that will definitely be my cup of tea...or cup of beer rather!

They had a beer walk at the Disneyland food & wine festival. I didn't do it but my friend did. He paid $10.88 for tastes of 5 different beers. (price includes tax). No way of knowing if that's what they'll do in Florida but I am betting it will be something similar.

Epcot's current regular wine walk (non-festival) costs $20 for six half-glass portions.
