My DS (21 mos) is starting to look like a ragamuffin but I want his first haircut to be at the Mainstreet barber shop!

DH laughs at me, but I'm trying to convince him we have to go back if for no other reason than to get DS's haircut, lol.

Come on, I'm not the only one with a flimsy excuse to go back to WDW am I?

We didn't plan the trip just for the haircut, but I did put off the haircut for the trip. ;)

My DS was days shy of 2 during our first trip. When we started planning in the winter he didn't have much hair, so "of course it can wait until May". Of course then his hair started to grow and he had long curls by the time May came. Both he and DD4 got their first haircuts at the same time. It was a great experience and they both wore their ears for the rest of the trip. :goodvibes

We put off haircuts again this year for a few weeks so they would all 3 need them when we arrived.

I can relate but I am on the other end of the spectrum! My DD had her first haircut at the Main Street barber shop just shy of 2. At that time, I figured that it would be tricky to have any future kids' first haircuts there but I felt like I was setting a precedent. I would have felt a tinge guilty if our DD had her first cut at Disney while theirs was at the local shop. LOL!

Now...my twin boys will be 14 months when we go to WDW and I want them to have their first haircut there too! Their hair is definitely coming in but I don't think they will really need much of a cut by the time we go. However, we probably won't return to WDW for another year and a half to two years so I don't think I would be able to hold off on a haircut until they are 3 years old  So, even if it's only a few wisps, we're doing it !! :goodvibes

You are not alone, I'm holding off getting DS's first hair cuts at WDW

They are only 18mo now and their hair is long can't imagine what it will be like in June:scared1: They actually are going to be ring bearers in a wedding next month - I felt a little bad - but thankfully my brother's wife likes the curls and thinks they will be soo cute in the tux's so that's good.

My DD's first haircut was at the Barbershop when she was 26 months old! Yep, I waited and it was fun.

Now her bangs were not straight but that was beside the point -- it was just a fun experience.

I'm taking my other daughter most likely this July for her first haircut there -- she'll be 16 months. I'm hoping her hair will be long enough!:goodvibes

Not alone... I waited and waited for DD's first haIRCUT AND WHEN WE GOT THERE she had the most beautiful curls and couldn't bring myself to have anyone cut them.

Why didn't you get his hair cut last year?

That being said, my DD was so old when her hair was cut the "first haircut" ears were too small :lmao:. I think she was 4 years old and I don't think that Michael really believed me!

I'm forcing my DW to have our DD's 1st haircut next week At WDW. Both our other kids had their 1st cuts at WDW. Our DD is only 7 months old right now, however she came out of the womb needing a trim. I've convinced DW to let them sheer a lock for the memory.

We had DD's hair cut for the first time at Disney World this year and it was such a great experience and memory! Her hair is getting so long (I couldn't bare more than a inch cut off) that I am not sure we can wait until our next trip but I'm going to try!

what a great idea!! I'm pregnant now with our first child and I never even though about getting the first haircut at disney.... now I'm going to! I can see my DH rolling his eyes already though when I mention it to him! ;) oh well!

We are also waiting for DS first haircut while we are at the world. He will be 13 months when we go in June. His hair is not too bad yet, but I have a feeling by June it will probably be getting into his eyes. The whole family knows why we are waiting, though!:goodvibes I can't wait to take him on his first trip!

I'm hoping to wait for DD2's first cut as well! She'll be 22 months when we go in November. I'm not sure if we'll make it, but I'm sure going to try to hold out. She doesn't have much hair to speak of now at a week before her first birthday.

Either go to the Barber shop first thing in the morning or wait until later (after 11am or so). I've found that there can be lots of families getting the "pixie package" or whatever they call it -- they put goop and glitter in the hair to make it pretty...sort of like the poor man's BBB. And most folks want to get that in the AM to show off the rest of the day (it also takes some time to dry).

When we went there at 9:10am we were #3 in line so we waited about 1/2 hour. Next time we'll just go later in the morning/afternoon and hopefully it'll be empty.

My DD2 at the time loved being covered with stickers and playing with the Mickey light up toy.

I've been putting off my DS's first haircut, too. DH doesn't mind too much, but he does complain about it being so shaggy. My son will only be 20 months when we go in May, but he's had a head full of hair since birth. Right now it actually looks pretty stylish... kinda like Mitchel Musso's. :thumbsup2

Aww, I didn't know they had pink ears! Maybe they were out with DD since she didn't ask me and just gave me black.

Nope, you aren't crazy. I'm pregnant now with our first child. I have told Dh since before we were married that our child's first haircut will be on Mainstreet.
