Am I terrible Mom for choosing GF over WL?

Well it more like a fountain than a geyser and a swamp than woods.

My past includes living a decade in the Rocky Mountains ... let me recommend you consider a future vacation to see the real thing. Visit the Grand Tetons/Yellowstone (stay Old Faithful Inn - what WL is imitating) & Glacier National Park [Glacier Park Lodge (Huge Douglas fir pillars that are over 40 feet high and 40 inches in diameter. The Blackfeet Indians, awed by the size of the timbers called it "Omahkoyis", or Big Tree Lodge.), Many Glacier Hotel (take the boat tour to see the glaciers) or Prince of Wales Hotel in Canada] to see real geyers and forest along with Rocky Mountain scenery.

Um, I would have to say GF wouldnt be as much fun to stay at as WL , for kids that is. Not much for them to do there.
Heck, did you consider AKL?

Both are great places to stay and kids will like either. However 40% discounts at the GF are extremely rare. And WL will always be less expensive even at rack rate.

Keep your bargain, just be sure to tell the kids when they fall in love with it, that they also wanted to stay at the WL.

the gf has tons of fun kid stuff. they have a pool open 24 hours a day, anothe rpool with waterfall and slide, a beach, a volleyball court, you can rent all kinds of watercraft, you cna see wishes from lots of places and the water parade, kids loved to dance in circles around the piano as he played at night (which was super cute btw) you are on the doorstep of the MK and on the monorail, there is a character meal, for girls you can do the GF tea, there is a cute hair salon girls love to go to, etc. etc. etc....
