Hi all

1st of all, please excuse my mini freaking out session I'm having at the moment!! :rotfl:

I am just really worried that planning a WDW wedding, plus a 3 week disneymoon is too much to plan for us all. None of us have ever been to WDW and I'm overloaded with info!! :scared:

I realise I still have 18 months to sort this all out but like I said, I'm freaking out!! Its just dawned on me that I have to sort the wedding, flights, Disney hotels, ADR's etc etc etc etc.............OMG I just feel like I'm going to get it all wrong! :guilty:

Has anyone else had a DFTW and Disneymoon and has never visited before? Just some reasurrance would be great that this is totally ok to do.....or a quick wake up call that I am indeed a plonker to be taking on such a challenge!!

You can do it! :thumbsup2

When I started planning our DFTW and wedding, I had only been to WDW once, when I was a kid. Planning the wedding part is as easy or as complicated as you want it to be. Disney handles all the heavy lifting - it's just up to you how many extra details you want to wrangle, like welcome bags, rehearsal dinner, newsletters, favors, etc.

As for planning the honeymoon, I read a TON of guidebooks and trolled all the various sections of the DIS for planning info. I used the reviews on the Restaurants Boards to figure out where I wanted to eat, and then I used my PassPorter to keep track of all my ADRs and other trip info.

Another great site for planning is www.tripit.com, which lets you forward all the confirmation emails you get - airline tickets, car rental, non-Disney hotel info - to one email address and then automatically generates an itinerary for you. Then you can type in other info (like ADRs and Disney hotel info) and have it all in one place. I :lovestruc it!

You have plenty of time, so you can break down all your tasks into manageable chunks. And the people on this board can help you along the way! :goodvibes

WOW 3 weeks!!! Good for you!!! How exciting for your wedding and your first visit there!!!!

Congrats and good luck with the planning..you have plenty of time :)

Hey Jo,

You do have such a good bit of time before this all occurs, but I can understand why you're nervous. Having said this, you're in the right place! You know we'll all be there right along with you helping out. Just don't be afraid to ask questions - for example if you need something specific like a picture or info in May when I'm down there for my planning trip, please don't hesitate to PM me and I'll do whatever I can to help out. And I know plenty of people on this board who will (and have done) the exact same thing.

I agree with the other girls. For us that have been a lot and know a lot of the ins and outs of Disney we are here for you to give as much help to you as you need! You have plenty of time so no worries!

Also, if you decide to do a planning session in person you will be able to visit prior to the wedding and honeymoon to give you an idea for what is in store for you!

If I did it you can, I was the only one in my group of 12 that had ever been to WDW. I had to book all the ADRs and activities. I would say the wedding bit was easy compared to what ADRs we wanted!

Hi Carrie and thanks for all your advice! I am going to look at 'tripit' as that sounds ideal. I have calmed down now slightly! I just lost it there for a moment.

I agree, a planning session would be really ideal but the cost of flights is just so high that I can't justify the cost. I am only having an escape wedding but if I was having a wishes wedding, then I definately would.

Thanks :)

Hi Jane

Like you, I will be booking everything. Actually like you said, the wedding bit is the easiest part, it is all the rest that I'm freaking out about. I have bought myself a HUGE notepad and I'm alternating between this section of this site and the disney dining, parks, hotels etc writing everything down!

To help me pick out our ADRs I printed off the menus from allears.net and then let my DH look over them and pick out the ones he liked the look of. That way if we had a bad meal it was all down to him :rotfl2:

:rotfl: oooooo liking your style!! Actually DF is a realllllllyyyyyyy fussy eater and if I leave it up to him.....it will be KFC every night!!

For the ADR's, I will just make sure that each restaurant serves steak for DF. I have mentioned to DF that I would like us to go to Narcoosee's (sp) for dinner after our wedding.....however I failed to mention that it is predominantly a fish restaurant....and DF doesn't eat fish!! :rotfl2:

Jo I am in EXACTLY the same position as you - never been to WDW and am planning a DFTW and (hopefully) a 3 week disneymoon. I'm feeling the stress and have had momentary freakouts similar to yours. :scared1: What date is your wedding? We're hoping for 28th April 2010!! Going to be calling the planner soon!! :scared:

Hi

Not too sure yet of the date but I am hoping for 11th May. I'm not going to call the planner yet....will probably be around March next year.

We can get totally freaked out together!!

The girls on this site are so fantastic and help with everything so I am trying to keep that in mind when I have a blippy moment!!
