Help. I can't make a decision about this to save my life. I think my problem is reading these boards too much, ha ha ha. At least thats what my DH says. For some reason I really want to go in Oct. But I keep reading that anymore its hot, busy, many conventions and I don;t even remember what else I read about it. Nov. for me, the first 2 weeks are out of the question and I dont think I'd want to go thanksgiving week so I guess that leaves the 3rd week. What will the temps be like? We'd like to swim and get some sun. The week in Oct. I was considering was the week of the 16th. What are your opinions for those of you that either have been there Oct and Nov. or those of you who live there?

We have been there in Mid Oct. and again right before T-day. I prefer Nov. the crowds were lower until the Tues. before T-day, temps. were nice. Oct. was still hot and humid to me. The sun was beating down on us at the parks. It was more crowded than I thought it would be. However, we enjoyed swimming and MNSSHP. We were there 9 days in Nov. and swam 4 of them. I also missed our fall weather here in Oct. I'd rather go in Nov. when it's cold and we sometimes have snow.

Our last two trips were in October. Myself and DS who was 4 and 5 on those trips.

The third was planned for Oct. 2005, but decided to do a "dream trip" (see below) and included the Disney Cruise so I cancelled the third Oct. trip in a row to do Spring Break this year.

The weather, the first two trips was amazing. We aren't "commando" types that we have to do everything... and because of that "crowds" don't get in our way. We actually plan days to relax at the pool, etc... and we were very lucky to have exceptional low 80's, sunny weather. We went to MNSSHP both years, the final year actually on Halloween night and it was a blast. DS was Peter Pan, but wore SHORTS under the shirt vs. pants, it was that warm, even at night!

IF we had kept our ressie for Oct. '05 it would have been HORRIBLE. One of the hurricanes, sorry I can't remember which one was looming. We had no hurricane threats in the previous two years. :confused3 It caused a LOT of rain, closing of the parks for a day or so.... I was thankful that we had moved our trip to April.

So, to answer your question, it just depends... like for our trip in April... it truly just depends, weather wise!!

Good luck with your decision!

We love October...it's our favorite time to go! Of course, in response to a previous poster, I do think it seems like hurricane season is reaching more into October than it used to. We were there the first week last year and watched as a tropical storm headed our way turned into a tropical depression and just left rain for us to contend with. Our previous Octobers had been perfect weather wise. I hope the hurricane crap settles down some, because we're going again in October this year. I also had debated between October and November(Thanksgiving for us). I know the first weeks up towards T-giving are fairly light, so that is something to consider. The weather, I think, is probably not quite so hot as it can be in October.

If I didn't have to contend with the girls school schedule(their Fall Break is in October), I think we MIGHT go the first week in November. At any rate, we refuse to miss the Food and Wine Festival, so we choose to go in October. I say if it weren't for those two things for us...November would be a perfect time to go(minus T-giving week)

October is GREAT... We where there last year (and 2003 and 2002). Every time last week of October.

you can see a trip report and pictures here. October trip report

why October; HALLOWEEN!!!

I was there during the Wilma Huriccane. We had to stay in, but later in the early afternoon we where at the EPCOT (once they opened). I am planning another October trip for next year.... I can only say to everybody October is great.. No wait.. DON'T go in October (more room for me :rotfl: - Only Goofing around)

I appreciate the tips so far and anyone else that wants to add to it. One thing that makes me 2nd guess Nov. is not just how cool it will be in Florida but since we are coming almost from the most northern part of Ohio, we can have alot of snow sometimes here in Nov. I wouldnt want to contend with that driving but I also would like to avoid scorching heat, hurricanes, conventions, and long lines. (my kids can sometimes be a little impatient and we arent use to florida heat)

I went the week before thanksgiving in 2004. It was great the weather was beautiful aroun 81/82. No rain, we swam almost evryday. Crowd levels were low. It was amn absolutley great week, and I would definitley go that time again HTh

We go to the parks just about every weekend in those months. I have tried to schedule our vacation out there around Veteran's Day and for us it's been the perfect time of year. The weather's cooler, but not too cool that you can't enjoy the pool. And they start putting up the Christmas decorations then.
