Am I Nuts To Go In June?

I was just curious does it rain almost every day in june?

Yes. Most days just light showers once or twice a day, but others are non-stop rainy days.

While we normally go in November. In 2002 we were at WDW the 2nd week of June. It was pretty busy, but you'll make do...

The following things will happen during your stay:
  • It will be hot
  • It will ran nearly afternoon
  • It will be humid, even more so after it rains
  • You'll be at WDW and be having a great time

While I do not remember the exact words, I remember the gist of one weatherman's forecast: It will be hot today and there is a 50% chance of rain this afternoon. For those of you who are visiting the area, that means that 50% of you will get rained on.

I have been going to WDW in June since I was one and am now twenty. Yes, it is hot and humid at times. But take advantage of your hotel, if you are on property, pop back to your hotel for a swim. Staying all day in a park is no place for a 2 year old. Come back when it is a little cooler. Your 2 year old will love playing in the pool instead of waiting in sticky lines. And yes, it does rain almost everyday in june, but only for a couple of hours in the afternoon, then the sun comes out like nothing happened. Hope you have a great trip. And don't push yourselves to hard, remember, it's a vacation.

I would avoid the first weekend in June. It is the unoffical weekend for Gays and Lesbians. It can be very crowded that weekend. Also a little hard to explain to young children.

We were there June 6-11 this year, and it rained. A lot. A whole lot. All day. However, the rain was preferable to the heat we experienced when it wasn't raining.

Crowd-wise, we actually found it to be more crowded earlier this month (Oct. 7-10).

We went this year first week of June. It was really crowded and very hot and humid. Almost every ride had a wait time of at least 30 minutes if not 45 minutes! It was really hard to stay in line and wait in that heat! We will be going in February or April when our kids are out on break. I am prepared for the crowds but am hoping it won't be as nearly as hot as our trip in June. Hope this helps............
Feb. will not be that bad. I normally stay at FW every Feb/March. But In April... That is spring break time... GOOD LUCK!

April through August it is almost GTD that you will have a shower or 2 with lightning in the area. My best advise to everyone coming during that time is to 1. bring ponchos and covers for the strollers and 2. If you see the rain in the distance and can start to smell it in the air- Go to a food place quickly.. have your family sit and get some food to eat... By the time you finish it is most likely going to be over and the eating areas get filled quickly! Have fun.....

Not crazy at all. I went this past June and we had a great time. Now, I also did a lot of research to plan out our days. I wanted to make sure that I was at the right park on the right days. We really had a great trip. I would have to say it may have been the best one I have been on. If you plan, you can have a great trip.

With only having a 2 year old, if I was you and could go at another time, I would go at a cooler time. Strollers can't be used in lines and holding a toddler in that heat would be tough. We were in WDW this past June/July over 4th of July. The crowds were heavier, but not unbearable, but the heat, humidity and constant threat of rain was a real pain. It never rained for long, but those brief downpours just made steam bubble up off the concrete and raise the humidity to ungodly levels. This was probably the least enjoyable trip we've had to WDW (and we've been down the end of August :confused3 maybe because we've aged since then :rotfl: !) mainly due to the even hotter than usual temperatures.

Nah! You'd be crazy not to go!

Seriously, June can get hot, and the crowds might be heavier than you're used to, so just be prepared for that and you'll be great. :flower:

It's not like it is August. I'm never going to WDW in August again. EEE-GAD!

We just went this past June 3-11 and it was fine for us...I am with Bubba73...did TONS of research of when and where to go at certain times, mostly Tour Guide Mike, and I think that helped alot and the use of Fast Passes. It did rain EVERY day there, but I love the rain and when can you really run and splash in the rain and get away with it? My dd and ds loved it!
I would go again in June, but at the beginning...

Take advantage of midafternoon naps/breaks, that helps sooo much with kids.

We were also there during the big GayDays weekend...It wasn't as big of deal as I had imagined. Many of the couples were so discrete with holding hands. I witnessed nothing more than that. My dd(8) and ds(4) had no clue, they were at WDW!!!! No questions and if there had been I would have certainly answered them. Doesn't bother me in the least...

So GO FOR IT and have fun!

I went during June 2nd-6th of this year. We actually thought the weather was great for us. We managed to avoid the parks when it rained and had fun at SAB. I knew that it was Gay week, but didn't notice anything different while we were there at all. My son was thrilled to have gone during Star Wars Weekend. It was relaxing for us. Of course, we spent a lot of time in and around the Beach Club Villas during that vacation. I don't remember it being very crowded. We tend to hit the parks very early, take advantage of FP and extra magic hours. I wouldn't hesitate going again in the early part of June.

We went the first week in June of '04. Except for PI at night it wasn't bad at all. We saw La Nouba that friday night and had plans to stroll through PI but being it was in the middle of Gay Days the crowds were crazy (glad we didn't bring the kids) The weather was warm but not too bad. Of course I'm use to warm weather here in South Texas.

Yes you are! :p Now pay for that trip and give it to me. That way you can save yourself the lunacy of going to Disney. I promise to send pictures and a solid trip report. :teeth:

PLANNING TO GO TO WL JUNE 5-10 FOR MY 2 YEAR OL DS FIRST VISIT,IS THIS CRAZY? I USUALLY GO IN THE FALL,SIO I REALLY DO KNOW. :earsgirl: THANKS

Yes you are. Stick with the fall and enjoys relatively pleasant temperatures and crowds.

We went once during the second week of June -kind of hot, crowds not too bad. All in all, not a bad time to visit. My two pieces of advice would be 1) hydrate constantly & 2) take a midday pool break

We went June 12th - 17th. I did not think it was anymore crowded than our trip in Oct. It was hot but we wore neck coolers & those helped alot! We did take afternoon breaks & enjoyed the pool. We also took advantage of the extra evening hours. I love those late night hours at the parks :earboy2: It did rain some but not near as much as our Oct.trip.
