Am I missing something?

I just tried to book the weekend of February 10th at any value resort and it states there are NO rooms available at ANY value resorts. How is this possible? :confused3To my knowledge there aren't any special events happening. Anyone have an idea?

I had the same problem with February 1-5th, No Values available. Apparently there is some dance competition going on during my dates. Ended up booking WL.

Yep, lots of teens packing the value resorts on those weeks :scared1::

February 4–5: UDA National Dance Team Championship

February 11–12: National High School Cheerleading Championship.
February 16–20: Twirl Mania 2012.

This, plus trying for a 'last minute' (by Dis standards) booking = lack of availability. Are you finding availability at any of the mods?

Oh crud... We booked POP for Feb 10-12 back in October. I had no idea this was going on. Oh well, at least we will be at WDW!

Thanks for the info guys! :goodvibes Crowds at the parks won't concern us, as we are going to do Universal this time but I did want to stay Disney. Glad to know I am not just crazy!

We're going to be at Disney January 27th and leaving on Feb 5th. Does anyone know if there is anything going on during that time? I've always heard that Disney is the least crowded thru the 1st week of February. Hope that's true.

It's just before Mardi Gras starts at Universal, FYI. Good luck booking at a low rate there, too! (but you should totally stay at one of their hotels, with the onsite privileges you get, IMO)

Totally agree with pp, if you can get a room at any of the Universal hotels or their partner hotels it is so worth it. We stay at Universal for the first two nights of our stay and then move to Disney. Have you tried priceline or those types of sites - they may have something. AAA also gives you a discount on rooms at both places. We love the Hard Rock at Universal. We used to do the same as you, stay at Disney for our entire stay and travel to and from Universal. It is much better to stay at Universal if that is where you are going - the Express pass is worth it alone but it will spoil you to not have to wait in line expect for three attractions total between the two parks.

We've been a couple of times this same week and plan on doing it again this year because of the low crowds. I believe this year will be the same as in the past. :thumbsup2

Good. Hopefully, we'll be safe in regard to crowd levels. Can't wait. Only 13 more days.

right after we booked we noticed that within a week there was no more room at any of the values for the time of our stay!

I know the food courts will be busy!
