After a medical scare, I am trying to take control of my health.

I am currently on WW, went back to the gym (I am SO out of shape!! But I'll get there ...), drinking water, eating less carbs, etc.

Is there something else I should be doing, or something else I should know to make this journey a little easier? I'd hate to find out a year down the road that if I wore yellow socks on the treadmill, I could have lost much more weight.

Well, maybe not exactly yellow socks, but if I'm missing something, give a holler!!

Thanking you in advance for any advice --

I must confess, I had been trying weight watchers for a long time and spinning my wheels. Then I went back to school last fall and found out that one of the girls in my class is a trainer who lost over 65 pounds so I asked for her help - she took one look at my journals and said I was eating way too many carbs....WW is great, but I'd suggest at the VERY LEAST following their good health guidelines.

Good Luck!

I completely agree!! You can use your 25 points (or whatever your number is) eating a few bags of doritos each day or you can use those points wisely! Personally I found that I relied too much on 100 calorie packs and pria/balance/WW bars but I've since tried to phase those out and am replacing them with fresher, healtier foods. The least processed the better for your body....even if it costs a few extra points!

Also, most people think "cardio" when it comes to exercising, but dont forget about strength training because the more muscle mass on your body the more fuel your body will burn...meaning the more it will boost your metabolism.

Good luck and welcome to a healthier you!:cheer2:

Excellent points given already. I will recommend that you log your food on something like spark people or fit day if you find that you are not finding the success you desire with WW. Making those healthy choices and increasing your movement will give positive results. Remember to find a way to enjoy the journey as you look for your lifestyle change. Make small goals that you are sure will be met, find a way to have fun.

You can do it!
