Am I missing something?

Keri- Welcome to the DIS! I think All Star Movies is an excellent choice for your kids' first trip. The theming is so obviously Disney, and they are the perfect age to be in awe of the larger than life icons around the hotel. Make sure they see the replica of Woody's room and the Herbie car with the waterfall. My kids were 6 & 2 when we stayed there and they LOVED it!

We always eat dinner at Chef Mickey's on our arrival day. It is a good buffet, and we get to see the "main" characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip, Dale, Donald) so we don't waste time standing in line for them at the parks. I don't think there is a way for you to make your lunch ADR. Too many things can delay your check in (like the time they had my reservation marked for the following year- that took a couple of hours to clear up).
Also, you may want to consider 2 of our favorite restaurants- 'Ohana (a must do on every trip) and Whispering Canyon Cafe (My DS8 & DH's favorite). Ohana dinner will be a lot of fun for your girls- there are coconut races, hula hoop contests, a wonderful singer, and excellent food. The food is served family style, so no going up to the buffet for you!

Please let us know what you decide. Good luck!

wow....that is prob the best step-by-step i've ever seen, mryppns (heidi) ~ very nicely done :thumbsup2

if i may just add one teeny-tiny thing tho: your ME luggage may not "appear" in your room until several hours after arrival. (we've had experiences of about one hour  , as well as about 7 hours after check-in :scared1: ). it's advisable to pack essentials, & perhaps a change of clothes in your carry-ons, just in case. :)

Thanks LSchrow...nothing is worst then getting off on the wrong foot at the start of your Disney vacation. And good tip about the luggage delivery...I always pack my check on to get me thru 24 hours just in case the airline losses it.

Thank you to eveyone that cleared up alot of misinformation that I had. I did not realize I had to check in to get my dining passes. I called WDW DINE and was able to push back my lunch reservation.:thumbsup2
