You said it!! I can plan with the best of them, but when I don't even get a postcard with the awesome rates, I can't even get into the game!!! And, the only time I got a postcard-it was in my mom's name and I couldn't use it!! Talk about irony!!

I know what you mean. It really does make you feel like you are starting out at a disdvantage...especially when some have received multiple postcards and others, none.

DW and I are considering moving our dates. We too go the week before and week after Christmas and always took advantage of that loophole where we got the value season rate for all nights even though we were there in holiday season. I already priced out next year's trip and the rate changes 3 times during our stay for the same dates (Dec 14-27 this year). We pay $149 thru the 18th, then $215 for a couple nights, $205 for the weekend before the 25th, and then back to $215 from Christmas through checkout. That is 60% more what we paid last year (we had a AAA 20% discount). Throw in the AAA 20% discount and it still is 28% more.

If I go for the 13 nights before the rate goes up (Dec 6-18), all nights are $149. So not all weekends are getting the bump up it seems.

Lucky you for having being able to go !! We actually won annual passes in a radio contest- my daughter was sooo happy and we hoped to actually come to disney for the holidays to see the beautiful resorts and epcot processional for the first time. My 12 yr old has never seen(nor I) and we live so-o-o close (3 hours away).We could not find even all-star room at a discount ,as our florida school vacations are not during the low rates. Next year- with higher resort prices & expired passes- we won't be able to go. SIGH!!!

Did you check any offsite hotels? There are some beautiful resorts with great amenities for much less than what Disney charges.... most offer shuttles to the parks as well.
