Am I missing something dose dcl no longer serve hawaii

Disney has gone to Hawaii in 2012 (roundtrips from LA) and 2015 (one ways to/from Vancouver). There is some speculation that maybe they'll go there again in Fall 2018...we'll find out when they release the Fall 2018 schedules.

It's not a regular stop. They'll do it occasionally between the end of the Alaska cruises and the Panama Canal repositioning cruise. I think they did it as an alternative to the Mexican Riviera cruises.
Part of the difficulty with Hawaii is the scheduling: because it's a longer cruise in early September, it means fewer families will sail. My wife and I did the return trip (Honolulu to Vancouver) in 2015 and it was overwhelmingly couples with a high percentage of Disney employees and others sailing at discounted rates. While I'm sure Disney made money, I'm not sure there was enough demand to justify making it a regular stop.

When the new ships are added, one may serve the west coat in a more dedicated fashion. I don't know if anyone knows. The thing about Hawaii cruises is that they either need to leave from, or stop at, a non-US port, and that's a bit of a nuisance to build the itinerary unless they run them out of Vancouver, and that's not something they'd want to do year-round.

There are weird US rules about ship staffing and registry if a ship starts in the US and only stops at US ports.

What the "rule" (actually a law) is:

A foreign-flagged ship may not transport passengers from one US port to a different US port without stopping at a DISTANT foreign port. All foreign-flagged ships must stop at (or begin or end at) any foreign port (near or distant) if beginning or ending a cruise in a US port.

They can do round trip (San Diego/Los Angeles/San Francisco) Hawaii cruises, as long as they stop at some foreign port (Ensenada, usually, but could be Victoria).

The issue with the Hawaii cruises, even the one way ones, is the length and time of year that DCL does them. Usually, families don't cruise when school is in so much. And families with young kids don't typically do long cruises.

If It comes up book it if you can. I know it's hard for families as your kids will be in school. I was on the one way Hawaii cruise in 2015 what a great vacation imo with a trip with aulani with it. Hawaii cruises were very reasonable for Disney.

Single handedly the Hawaii 2015 was the best cruise we took. If they just offered it every other year i would be
happy. :)
