My FI and are are staying at AKV for our honeymoon in June and have a 1 bedroom Savanna View booked at Jambo House. But I'm ready all these super cool things about Kiladni village. The super cool pool is cool, but nothing thats of huge concern to me. Am I missing out on anything else by staying in Jambo house?

TIA!
:confused3

I think that a one bedroom savannah view villa in Jambo is perfect for a honeymoon! I don't think you are missing anything. Kidani won't be completely ready by June, and so you may have to put up with some construction noises, incomplete plantings and other things that could distract from the experience.

If Kidani is what you want, waitlist. I don't think you'll arrive at Jambo and wish you were someplace else, it's a wonderful resort.

We have ressies next September at Kidani, but after that I have a feeling we'll be requesting Jambo more than Kidani. Kidani will not have any type of counter service restaurant and I really like Mara. I like getting up in the morning and getting my coffee at Mara and then sitting in the lobby and reading the paper while DW sleeps in. That would be a long walk from Kidani to do that.

Jambo house is fantastic! We stayed there last summer, you will  it!!!

We stayed at Jambo house in a one bedroom back in April and it was wonderful. I LOVE being at the main area. Open the door and there's that gorgeous lobby and all it has to offer. The lounge and Boma and Jiko right there....the pool and viewing areas and the lobby store (my fav on property store). After this stay, we actually added on at AKV (home resort is BWV). I can't wait to go back!

Congrats and enjoy!

We've stayed in Jambo House and believe me, you will not miss much at all, if anything.

Have a great honeymoon!

I just booked a stay beginning June 21st. The 1 bedroom was only avialable in the Jambo house and not Kadani Village. We took it as we wanted to try this resort. I forgot about the entry way for the front doors though.. We are used to outdoor entry like OKW so this will be interesting..

Thanks for the info.

Have now stayed twice at Jambo and it is impressive. Kidani's advantage will be the new pool/recreation area and larger 1BRs (and thus 2BRs) with the extra bathroom. Also, the main bath in the 1BR will have separate shower and tub (Jambo is a combined single shower/tub). Jambo has a very good pool and pool area and its advantage will remain having Boma (my view the best buffet restaurant at WDW) and Mara the cafeteria style quick food place. Kidani will have a new table service restaurant and I do not know how that will compare to Jiko the Jambo table service restaurant that has a wine list that one could die for. We will probably try Kidani at some point but right now I am not seeing anything that would convince me to give up being very close to Boma, Jiko, and Mara.

We are staying at Kidani in September of 2009 (2bdm) and are really excited about the pool! With two young energetic boys (by then ages 7 an 4) that pool was the reason we booked Kidani. We've stayed at the main AKL and had a fantastic time. We loved the Mara but don't worry too much about staying at Kidani in the 2bdm because we can eat breakfast in the room. You'll have a great time no matter what b/c AKL is amazing!

Obviously I haven't tried Kidani yet, so I suppose I can't compare the two... however I can't imagine being disappointed by staying at Jambo. It's wonderful! :lovestruc

Jiko, Boma and Mara are all terrific places to eat. The lobby is beautiful. The pool area is very nice. Yes, Kidani's pool area looks like it will be pretty neat, but I think it looks nicer for kids than adults. You can always walk over and check it out. I think I'd rather be nearer the restaurants. :goodvibes

I just booked my sister for June into Jambo. I chose it over K. She has never been to AKL, so I thought they would like to stay in the actual AKL and be close to all amenities, public areas, restaurants, etc.-- Plus, there might be some last minute detail work still going on over at Kidani. For a Honeymoon I would want more of the luxury hotel experience at AKL. With a family of 3 kids, I would pick Kidani.

Ok now I'm worried after reading this thread. We just booked a GV at Kidani for July. Will we be disappointed?

Of course not. Both Jambo and Kidani are going to be fabulous places. Each will have slightly different things to recommend them (Jambo -- quickservice, Kidani -- bigger rooms with somewhat cooler furnishings and more bathrooms). As long as you go into it with the attitude of "These are the fabulous things we have" and don't dwell on the things that could theoretically be slightly better/different, you'll have an amazing time.

This is the opposite of a "missing out", at least as far as I'm concerned. Kidani house won't have a fast food option, I believe. Last I heard, the only place to get that is at Jambo (Mara). Of course, you probably could walk from Kidani, but it's alot closer for those already in Jambo house.

Oh so is Jambo actually "inside" AKL? I've never been to the resort, and am SO excited :)

When I booked the reservation, Member Services said the advantage to getting a 1 bedroom was that it had a seperate tub and shower (the tub with jets), is that not the case in Jambo House? That is a little important since it is our honeymoon =)
