Just saw that my September 2010 reservation for a BLT - Studio - Magic Kingdom View is listed at the DVC member site as "Dlx Studio - Theme Park". Last time I looked at that reservation, I could have swore it said "Studio - Magic Kingdom".

Anyone else notice their accommodation type is listed as "Theme Park" instead of MK? I know, I know, can't see Epcot from BLT, but I'm just wondering what this new accommodation classification could mean...

Maybe they want to streamline the view categories to have fewer categories in the system. If it is Theme Park View, they could also use if for BCV and BWV for example.

Seems to be one of those typical IT kids streamlining the system again. These moves always make it easier for the IT people to fix their stuff rather than make sense to the people it is suppose to help or inform.

I continually battle this at work where the system is suppose to provide vital information to the user, but generally migrates to a system that can more easily be fixed or serviced by IT. The priorities always seem to get reversed.

Never stop yelling, even if you are the last voice in the wilderness.

The MS agent on the phone actually called my VGC studio a Deluxe Studio when I changed my reservation. Threw me off for a second...

I noticed all of my reservations now say deluxe studios (including my past reservations) a few days ago. Guess they want us to feel like our rooms are more special now.

When I stayed at BLT in January, I was given the worst MK view room possible, so I sent an email to complain. MS called me and made amends, but during that conversation the CM told me that they were reevaluating the categories at BLT. Perhaps they've added more categories and the system has changed to reflect that.

When we made our reservations for July, MS told us we were staying n a Deluxe Studio. I asked what that meant and they said there were changing the term for a Studio to sound more upscale. I smiled and said, Yea, that like saying Pre-owned instead of Used right. She laughed.

My guess is that the are working on merging the cash reservation and points reservaton system, and are beginning to adjus the categories to match the cash system descriptions.

When I saw it for the first time today I thought we had been upgraded to some kind of new category until I saw the past reservation descriptions had been changed also :rotfl2:

I just check our reservation for BLT for earlier this month and it shows Magic Kingdom view. I have to admit I didn't realize that BCV and BWV have views labeled, theme park or Epcot. BWV has the Boardwalk view, garden view and standard and as far as I know BCV does not have any particular view. You can request a room to get park views at BWV and BCV but it's not a category.

Now with VGC they really have a theme park view. So perhaps Brandis is right, IT is just streamlining the view categories to be used system wide. Surely there won't be new view categories at BLT.

My past and future studio reservations have also changed to read "deluxe studio," except the AKV value studio have booked for September. It still reads "studio-value."

OHHHH....your "ONLY" staying at a VALUE studio.:snooty:

Well my friend I have stayed at a DELUXE studio - so there....:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

They have also changed the category of DVC resorts to "Disney's Deluxe Villa Resorts". I think they have a hard time selling DVC rooms for cash considering it is much cheaper to rent points and most of the resorts are not as well known as the regular WDW resorts. By adding "deluxe" it sounds more upscale.

:rotfl: I thought the same thing when I noticed that the value rooms were't labeled deluxe. ;)

From BLT, North side even number rooms (a few floors up) can see Epcot, DHS, and AK (Mt Everest). We watched the Epcot fireworks and DHS fireworks from our balcony.

Oh, so I guess that means I'm a redneck-I've got a deluxe studio at AKV, but I'm on the waiting list for ONLY a studio-value, not deluxe. :rotfl:

We stayed in the north tower even room 8002, and had to go into the hall way and look out towards the pool to see the EPCOT fireworks. The odd rooms face the pool.
