Am I just a lush or are Disney's drinks weak :/

I was so excited on our trip in 2013 to get a Margarita in Mexico at La Cava Del Tequila, I'd talked and talked about it.....but yuck! :faint: I was so disappointed as I'd heard they rocked. I love margaritas, but that thing was like trying to drink moonshine! And I know, I'm from Kentucky! It was way too strong, pure tequila with no sweetness or much mix. I hated it, disgusting, total waste of money as I drank a few drinks of it, made hubby try it and he said it was awful, then trashed it. Scared to waste the money on another drink in Epcot.

See, I didn't think the Lapu Lapu was all that strong. The only thing that's ever really knocked me for a loop in WDW was doing the wine pairing at V&A's.

gosh I wish I had that margarita!

I am also not much of a drinker: 2-3 drinks per trip to WDW. (and I'm a former bartender).

I find the mixed drinks to be weak and very, very sweet. The tequila cave has the stoutest brews I've experienced thus far, but still not strong by most standards.

Never had a lapu-lapu!

I smiled my way through this whole thread. Thank you very much:) Over the years, I became a wimpy drinker. Very sad. I now need people to finish my drink for me.

I generally find Disney drinks on the weakish side but I do have to say the ones I've tried in China at the F&W Festival have packed quite a punch. Seems like the CMs from China who work that booth have quite a heavy pour!

I don't know about the mixed drinks but I was pretty satisfied with the beer in Epcot! Never met a German Beer I didn't like!

Yes - try the Lapu Lapu! My DH is a big guy and after drinking one he had to go back to the hotel room to lay down.

That's funny. I'm not that big a guy (I'm not small either) and after three different drinks, including the Lapu Lapu, at Tambu Lounge I was perfectly fine.

Then again, I'm basically a pro tiki drinker anyway. I've had many of the really strong ones you can get at the Mai Kai in Fort Lauderdale and still been fine.

I do find Disney's drinks to be weak. Usually when I drink in one of their bars in the evenings to wind down I ask for something simple like an Old Fashioned, or I drink my whisky neat. It's hard to make a drink like an Old Fashioned weak.

Disney's signature cocktails are weak but I've never found a classic cocktail weak: the gin and vodka tonics, Manhattans, Old Fashioneds, martinis are in line with what I order at my favorite bars home. In fact, the portions are usually generous! Several times in several bars I've gotten half a tumbler of Macallan 18.
