My husband and I are taking our 2-year-old to WDW 1/31-2/7. We orginally booked using the pay for 4, get three free code. We're staying at POP and we are in a preferred room. Not because we wanted a preferred room, but because that was the only type of room available for that code on those dates. Cost (including insurance) is $1,041.16 for two adults and a two-year-old, plus we get a $200 gift card.

I just saw on mousesavers that there is now another code (room only, but vacation package codes were listed too) for that week. Mousesavers said that if you were staying at a moderate or above, the code we used was the best deal, but to call and check if you were staying at a value.

So, I called. The guy immediately started trying to talk me out of even checking because with the JIX code, I would not be getting anything "free." I told him that I understood that, but the room rate was also much lower and I was just interested in the quote. He put me on hold for awhile and came back and said the quote with JIX would be $1,242.16. I'm thrilled that I got the original good deal and I'm happy with it...just wanted to check. I just have this feeling that I didn't get the whole story with that quote.

I DIDN'T specify to him that I didn't have to have a "preferred" room, but I wouldn't think that would make a large difference....not $200 worth. Thoughts?

The difference between a preferred and standard room is $67.

When I did the math based on a standard room, it came out to $860 with OZI for 2 adults at Pop with 7 day tickets.

For the 4/3 deal, it was $840 and we get a $200 gift card, so that seems like a much better deal to me.

The difference is in the number of nights and savings on tickets, vs. the overall discount on the room.

In your case, it doesn't help. On a typicall disney family of 2A, 1J, 1C it might. You are just a 2 adults with a 2yr old...
