Just because I "previewed" this post and saw other posts about costumes...I haven't (and won't) go back and re-watch the video or check out what other costumes are like, but IMHO it's more about the moves...ADD to that revealing costumes, and it makes it that much more inappropriate.

Just watched and WOW can those girls dance!

I do think the outfits were a little risque though.

Except for the costumes, which are completely questionable, the moves that the girls perform are standard dance moves you would see at ANY dance competition. They are very talented for their age. I would be aghast if the my DD's school chose that costume, but the dance itself isn't all that bad.

It's hardly about "color combination". They ARE skimpy, IMHO (and most others), and that's hardly "a little shimmy here and there".

I agree. Gyrating with pelvic thrusts is hardly a little shimmy.

But yeah, those girls are INCREDIBLE little dancers, but they're what, 9? Way too young for those costumes and the moves are put together to be a LOT too suggestive for anyone under the age of about 20 or so. JMHO.

I put my dd in swim shorts and a rash guard. And I have her wear bike shorts under dresses so her underwear can't be flashed.

For those who think the dance is in good taste and just-for -fun, is there anything little girls could do/wear that would be sexual? Or is that not possible?

I always bought my girls tankinis when they were young. I just always felt sorry for little girls trying to keep their tops from wrapping around their necks. And *I* felt they were more appropriate. Altho, some here no doubt would suggest I just dress them in this...

Just showed my DH and his mouth dropped open, he looked a whole lot like this , kept tapping my arm as he watched then said, "I'm just speechless" and walked away shaking his head looking a little ill.

I wonder what other husbands/Dad's think about it?

Heh. I showed my DH the video as well. His response was that if his girls (two of them are dancers aged 7 and 9) were taught to dance like that the police would probably have to removed him from the building he'd be so angry. He actually had to walk away.
