We took the kids to Geauga Lake (like six flags) and I wore flip flops all day without a problem. Am I crazy for wanting to do this at WDW? I am planning on bringing my tennis shoes too just incase.

::MickeyMo No, as long as they're comfortable. I wore a pair of Roxy's and had to go to First Aid to get bandaids because they were cutting my feet. The next time I wore the cheap Old Navy ones and they were perfect. No one problem. I guess just make sure they're nice and comfy. I prefer to tennis shoes anyway because walking around in flip flops all day makes my feet dirty for some reason and I don't like it. I like my sneakers. ::MinnieMo

I dont think I would wear flip slops at WDW... I dont really find them all that comfortable. But to each his own :)

Bring tennis shoes, and bring a spare pair of tennis shoes. leave your flip flops in the hotel room for the pool

I wore flip-flop like shoes (open toe, no sling back) on my trip last year. They felt comfortable enough WHILE I was walking, but once I got home...OH MY GOD :earseek: I had them doggies soaking in my foot massager for like three days! This year I wore my running shoes and had NO problems at all. Not a pain, blister, NUTHIN'!

I have walked all day in flip-flops before and been fine and I've worn tennis shoes and had horrible blisters! I think the best advice regarding shoes is to not wear a NEW pair of anything. Trying shoes on in a store is different than walking in them for hours.
If you have a pair of trusty shoes that you know for a fact are comfortable then go with those whether it's a pair of flip-flops, tennis shoes or snow boots! :rotfl2: :earseek:

What exactly are "tennis shoes"???

If you playing tennis then it's a good idea to pack them....if not then I would recommend a great pair of real walking shoes like what you would find at the Athletes Foot. Have a professional fit you with a great pair of shoes.

Wearing the wrong shoes at WDW is like wearing the wrong bra....just a really really bad idea.

Most people do not do a lot of walking. And most people don't get in the recommended 2 miles a day....just imagine going to WDW and walking 4-6 miles per day on crappy shoes.....

My Nike's, I have no clue if they are walkers, cross trainers, or whatever. Maybe I will have to convince DH I need another pair of shoes. I looked into Croc's, but those are just not me. Thanks for eveyones responses.

Last year at WDW, I got a really bad blister (from very expensive sneakers). So I had no choice but wear flip flops the rest of the trip. I have to admit, I was saying to myself, "I hope I don't end up on badshoes.com!

::MickeyMo Tennis shoes are pretty much sneakers. Like the Adidas sneakers you see everywhere with the different color stripes on the side (they can be unisex). Those are technically "tennis shoes." ::MinnieMo

I wore flip flops more than not on our trip in June. I recommend bringing a variety of you favorite shoes. I found that over time I wore a blister on my feet or heel, so it was nice to be able to rotate shoes. I also found flip flops or Tevas to be better while touring in the rain.

I'm wearing my Teva flip flops at WDW next week - I wore them all the time this summer so they're very broken in and very comfortable but I'll be packing my Crocs and sneakers also just in case the flip flops become uncomfortable.

I wore a pair of flip-flops to Geauga Lake too and let me tell you, I had the worst blisters on the tops of my feet from the plastic rubbing. Never again! They left scars! It's my Teva's all the way at Disney. Geauga Lake is pretty small compared to MK so think twice the walking.

i've been to Geauga Lake( or what ever it's called now) and multiply the size by 10 for wdw and remember you will be there anumber of days. my feet are ok in anything the first day then i really need something good or they hurt.

tevas hurt my feet my"tennis shoes"( nike walkers really) with gel insoles and cushioned walking socks were the best for me. might try crocs some day if i can find a normal color

Oh boy, I recommend comfy sneaks.....we all wear them cause baby - you do alot of walking!!!!

4 izzy's going to disney......24 days to go!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

.....

must be a "great lakes area" type of slang cause i knew just what the poster meant ( and have been known to say the same thing :))

I got the worst blister from my tennis shoes. a bit of the "sand" from the donald bone area in AK got in there and I didn't know it. The rest of the trip I wore my sandels. I wish I would have wore them everyday.

I think someone else made a great point. Don't go wearing something you don't wear often thinking you would be more comfortable. The shoes you wear everyday would be a safer bet.

:rotfl2: Just like pop to drink not soda. I wear my ADIDAS flips more then anything. We are doing split days at the parks so I will just switch out my shoes. Thanks about the boneyard tip, I will wear my tennis shoes on AK day for sure.
