Trying to plan a last minute Halloween trip for my sons birthday. I was able to grab rooms at BWV for the Saturday and Monday night of our trip, but I'm missing Sunday.

Should I waitlist, stock the resort availability tool, book a cash BWV, or cancel the whole thing and play it safe??

Heeeeellllp!

I do not think you are crazy. If it were me, and any resort had the 3 nights, I would book that. Given your situation, and I think you really want BWV, I would book the missing night somewhere, and waitlist. Nothing wrong with checking RAT!

Thanks. I'm not tied to BWV per se, it was just the only DVC with a studio for my dates. Which I would imagine is very rare during food and wine! So I had an impulse and snagged it up!!

So you are thinking book the cash BWV room and then hop on the waitlist and continue to stalk the RAT. I have just enough points to book the last night I need, will I be able to waitlist and stalk? Meaning I have heard stories of folks on the waitlist but seeing the room they wanted showing on the RAT. So if I see it pop up I want to book it, but also want the comfort of the waitlist (should ot work as designed).

Thanks in advance!

I'm a hot mess over here trying to decide if this is even all worth it!!

I would waitlist, stalk and book a cash room at BWV. Maybe even book a cash room elsewhere as a backup.

Ok, yes book cash, then save the points to use if you see the night available.pixiedust:
And yes, waitlist...it should grab the night for you!

Have folks had good luck with waitlists? I need some good mojo!!

Waitlist are a crap shoot. The earlier you get on the waitlist the better he chance of matching. Someone has to cancel their room for it to come through. People change plans Often but it has to match what you need without anyone ahead of you on the waitlist matching. Only needing one night is in your favor but your waitlist is only 2.5 months from now for a popular room type during a VERY popular time. There could be many people ahead of you on the waitlist BUT if they need more than just Sunday the room would go to you (unless the other days they need open at the same time.)
