I'm thinking about going to Disneyland on July 17th, which is the 59th anniversary. Is it going to be really crowded? Do they do anything special? What will the days around the anniversary be like crowd wise?

Thank you!

Nothing major has been posted. It will be summer crowds. It will probably be slightly more crowded than normal. I know a lot of people are coming down for the anniversary, but simply because we always do.

For the 59th anniversary there won't be any noticeable blip in attendance.

I don't know if this will happen, but I've been a number of years on July 17th and generally on Main Street a couple of times a day in the afternoon they gave a little something. They fab five is there, a band plays & they broadcast walts welcome speech from opening day. It's been a couple of years since I was there for the anniversary, but they did this the few years I was in attendance.

They usually do this and sell a pin or maybe something else too. I imagine they'll be a special food offering at some counter service place, like a cupcake.

I don't think it's crazy to go for the anniversary if you know what you're getting into. Going because it's the 17th and then complaining because Splash FP ran out, you waited 2 hours for Matterhorn, people saved seats on benches for the parade, and it was hot and crowded, yea, that's a little crazy that you didn't anticipate that.
