I have wanted to eat at V&A's for my 25th wedding anniversary since my honeymoon and the Grand Floridain wasn't even completely built!

Lucky me I have reservations in the Queen Victoria room for DD, DM, DMIL, DH, DD's BF and myself on May 2, 2012. Yeah me!

Here's this issue. None of us are real 'foodies', but are willing to try some things. Also DMIL is a real plain basic eater, but I wanted to share this experience with both of our mothers. They are, after all, the reason DH and I are here!

Am I crazy? Will she find anything to her liking?

What about a night for just you and your husband?!

We've eaten at V&A many times and it's honestly not the best place for plain eaters. We've taken our adult children and their spouses a few times and there's a plain eater in this group. She doesn't enjoy it. She will try each course but other than the bread and dessert, she pretty much leaves everything else on her plate.

So if you are okay with spending that kind of money on a meal that someone won't necessarily enjoy (which is what we do because the rest of them enjoy it), then go ahead and take them there.

Yeah, honestly, if you're not going to make the most of the night and put yourself in the chef's hands, you might consider it a waste of money in the end.

Like Pakey said, if you're willing to fork over the amount of money it costs to dine there for the experience and the company and consider it worth your while, then go for it. But, if you think you're going to leave unsatisfied due to the menu not catering to you or your party's tastes, you'd probably feel more fulfilled at a place that you know will still be special and maybe a bit more crowd pleasing.

I agree that it may be a waste for those that aren't adventerous eaters. That is why I have never gone because my husband wouldn't eat anything :lmao:

I'm going to agree with everyone else. This is not an experience for those who are picky and like to keep things plain and simple or who aren't willing to completely "put yourself in the chef's hands" as Pug put it.

Maybe treat yourself and DH to V&A's one night and treat everyone else to a meal at Citricos or Artist Point for a nice, quiet, special meal.

IMO, you go to V&As for the food....food that you can't get anywhere else at WDW. If you don't think you'll enjoy the food....why go? I also think that it might make for an uncomfortable evening for your MIL; opening a menu and finding nothing on it that I would be willing to eat would make me feel kinda bad.

So, then, what is it that draws you to V&As? The atmosphere? The service? Maybe we can suggest other ways to get something close to that experience at WDW. It's possible to arrange private dining in various locations for your party. Or, as others have suggested, maybe a special meal for the family at one of the signature restaurants, with a menu that better suits your taste?

I agree with the PPs.. if you aren't going for the food, I wouldn't go.
