I can't even believe DH is seriously thinking about it. Two vacations ago in July of 2005 DH said to me, I can stay an extra week can you? Well of course I couldn't. This was after we were already at the world for two magical weeks. I would say that year was one of our best vacations ever. This year we are adding a La Nouba (DH & DS9 are sleeping in and swimming, me and DD16 (will be by then) are doing the Segway tour and having lunch at EPCOT. Then we will go to La Nouba and have dinner at HOB's. We are also doing Sea World this trip, in addition to our Beach Day (we normally do two).

I already feel like we won't have enough days at MK, especially when one of the days will be used for me and DH to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour while the kids do MK on their own (first time for that too).

Our company just increased everyone's vacation by 3 days a year to keep us competitive in the market. This made me come up with the idea to go for an extra week. Now I'd have to get my Boss to approve it, but we would already be going for 2 weeks & 1 day. It's only 4 extra days.

DH is seriously thinking about it, and I'm just giddy thinking about it too. The thoughts of almost an entire month in WDW is just making me bust at the seams. Are we crazy? We have AP's so passes aren't a problem. We are driving so no extra costs there. It would only be an extra 6 nights plus food. I even think I could agree to do 6 days of fast food eating (the horror, lol) if we were able to go for the extra week.

I'm already trying to think of things we can do that we never did before. I'm thinking maybe the day we do the Key's to the Kingdom Tour we can head over to Fort Wilderness and ride the Wagon Tour and do the Campfire.

As an added bonus, this is the first trip that will fall over my Birthday, so I"m super excited about that..............so am I crazy for even dreaming it? I'm the happiest when I'm with my entire family in WDW.

Go for it. If it makes you this excited just thinking about it. :)

It would be a nice time to just escape the real world and spend some quality time with your family. :)

I don't think that anyone on THIS board would think that you are crazy to want to stay longer at WDW. This could make the whole vacation more leisurely. Take your time and do some things that you haven't done before, even if that means spending more time just people watching! The longest I have gone is for 9 days and that was only once and I felt I was leaving too soon then. We have been many times and I keep hoping to do new things but a 7 day trip just never cuts it. If I were you I would take that extra week and stay at a different resort. My goal is to stay at every resort at least once! They are all so unique. Have a great time and just go for it! Try the mini golf courses...I have still yet to do that. Marilyn :thumbsup2

Go for it! Six days of fast food is well worth that extra time at Disney!

Do it!!! To me it is always a hassle GETTING there - the packing, travel, etc. are no fun. So, once you are there to stay the longest you possibly can makes total sense to me. I hope you have a wonderful time either way!!

We've done 3 weeks stays before and always had the best times.

I would go for it :thumbsup2

We'll be doing our first ever 3-week Disney trip this summer and can't wait. Of course, it will also be the first time we're going on a Disney cruise (4 nights over the 4th of July). So, no, you're not crazy--just crazy about Disney!

Spending 3 weeks there is not the concern I would have, as I know you will enjoy every minute.

Will you have any vacation time left if you use the 3 weeks at Disney? If not I would not want to be without any time off for an unplanned situation.

wow, that would be so great to do!! The cost would scare the heck out of me though, haha!!

MelanieC,

All I have to say is go for it!!! Last year we stayed for 22 nights at the poly and it was an amazing trip. So amazing that we're going for 24 nights this time around. We are able to see so much more at such a leisurely pace that it makes it even more magical for us! I'm sure most of us on here think there is no such thing as being down in WDW for too long!!! I'd stay for a day, I'd stay for a month, I'd stay for a year if they let me!!!!! Hoep you have a great vacation! Have fun counting down!!!

The best part about a 3 week trip is you don't have to feel rushed. You can get in plenty of park fun and more, plus have time to sleep and lay by the pool.

WOW!!! 3 Weeks at Disney!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

They way I look at it, since the kids are getting older, you may never get to do this again so YES!!! I'd do it. 3 Weeks in Disney sounds like Heaven. :cloud9:

I have a customer who spends the summer at Disney-- she is a DVC member and she coordinates her points so she can get 6 weeks at Disney. :cloud9:

My family always try to take at least 2 weeks when we go on vacation to Florida (my mother lives there), however, the longest stay at Disney will be this coming trip -7 nights /8 days.

Have a great trip!!

Yep, I have a whole other week of vacation left (I'd have to use 1 day in addition to the 3 extra I get, so I'd have 4 left). Plus I also have 3 floating Holiday's to use. I also get unlimted personal time as long as we don't abuse it. I can take off for kids things for school, Dr's appts., etc. We already are taking off two weeks and 1 day, so it's only 4 extra!

Tink-n-Belle - I actually think about how few childhood vacations I have left with DD. We usually go to DW each year, but next year or the year after we are doing two weeks in Germany with my mom. I was born there, so its been a dream of ours to go back together. We also want to go back to the Smoky Mountains with my mom withing the next few years for a week in these cabins we stayed at this year. This year we went to Alabama and Tennesee over the 4th of July and spent 2 nights at this cabin. It was so spectacular we want to go back and spend an entire week just at the cabin. I'm not sure how many more vacations to WDW we will get with her as a child. Your right, this would really make it special.

I just checked the hotel......It went up $10 a night over last year. We stay at the POP because for us, the price difference is so worth it. We couldn't afford to go for such a long time if we went with a more expensive hotel. Plus we like to eat at 2 sit down's a day for lunch and dinner. We would rather put the money into meals then the hotel. Thank goodness are passes are paid for.

Thanks for everyone's reassurance that we aren't crazy. I have always loved doing 2 weeks, so 3 is going to be even better. Now I just have to convice my boss that they can do without me for 3 weeks........hmm.

MelanieC, since you have an AP make sure to look at what discounts are available during the time you go. The Ap discounts come out a few months before your travel time. Last summer they were offering the DVC resorts & the BWI for $189 per night and they always have $10-$20 off Values too.

My friend ended up saving $300 off her trip next month due to the discount. They let her apply it to her existing Ressie.

I would go for a month if I could. It seems that WDW is the only place I am truly happy and not caring about anything else. We are excited to be doing 8 days in December so if we had the means to do 3 weeks, we absolutely would...in a heartbeat!

Tink-n-Belle - I forgot to mention that we got a Shades of Green Overflow rate about a month prior (edited to add- For our 2006 & 2005 trip & Most but not all trips prior). Instead of $99 per night it was only $79.00. That saved us over $350!!! Got to love those discounts.

Go for it! :thumbsup2 We're doing three weeks in WDW this year, but it's split between a week for Halloween and two weeks for Christmas! I'd love to stay 4-6 weeks at a time, and we dream about doing that when we retire! Our DVC points and annual passes will be put to good use then!

-Michelle

We allways for 20 days or more-take our time and really enjoy
all the parks-sit and watch the people at times-sometimes just stay at
resort and enjoy that-it is just so much more enjoyment doing it without
having to rush.
