Ok, I have not been to WDW at Christmas in years. It was crazy then, and I know it will be just as crazy now. How can I convince DH that it will not be so bad?? Please Help!! :(

**Updated**
Ok, so now I have decided to surprise my DH with New Years! A little less time at my favorite place but I think he will like New Years better :cheer2: :cheer2: . Wish me luck!! :goodvibes

It depends on your goals... lots of rides... forget it... being together in a really cool place with lots of interesting stuff to look at... go for it! Going at Christmas has actually been good for us... we've spent more time doing all those little extra things that we've been in too much of a hurry to do at other times.

I would never recommend it for someone's first trip. Or that once in a lifetime trip. However, it can be a great time to visit. The atmosphere is truly incredible. I wouldn't sugar coat it too much or else DH may be annoyed even more so for not being prepared. Rather I'd explain all the great decorations and shows that are only available at the holiday. Try that angle. Both go prepared for huge crowds. This way it will only be what you planned on or better.

Thank you. We are AP holders and usually go Oct. and early Dec.. I am not expecting those crowd levels, but work schedules are not working out this year for Dec.. Another poster made a remark about the little things to enjoy. We may focus on that. Maybe some backstage tours, Disney Quest, a spa treatment  Yeah well, I can dream! ;) We will be down the first week of Oct. so I know we will be getting the rides out of the way then. I have heard remarks about tour guide Mike? Not sure, may check this out.

my family has gone at christmas the last couple of years. Actually on christmas dayish. But this year we are going like the week before. Its not that bad. I mean, theirs ppl yes. But be smart, use fast passes. Especially on things you know are gonna have a million ppl wanting to ride. I love the decorations, the fakey snow. yay xmas at disney!

We have a Christmas trip booked and I am really excited about it. We have planned and researched more for this trip as we know it will be busy. We have backstage tours booked, plan on touring the deluxe resorts to look at the decorations, plan on a spa day on Christmas day (so we are no where near a park as it will be way too busy), most our ADR's will be in hotel restaurants so if the parks are too busy we are not panicking about getting in. We have planned park days to be there early, use fast passes for the must do rides and leave the parks early afternoon when the crowds are silly.
I am sure we will have a great time.

I actually had to convince my husband that I will make the trip relaxing. Unfortunately, I will not get to go full force in the parks, but it will be worth it if he decides to return again!

I guess we're crazy too! I told my DH last year that I wanted to do something special for my 40th birthday this year, and he agreed to go to WDW. Because my birthday is on December 23rd, we just had to stay through Christmas! ;) I am expecting it to be crowded, so we will try to ride and see what we can. If we don't get to do everything we want, we'll try again when we go next year. I will just be happy to be there on my birthday and Christmas!

We were in WDW the week between Christmas and NYD. Yes it was crowded. Mostly at night of course. The lines were long but tolerable. MGM the day after Christmas was empty in the morning. We didn't have long waits for anything! THe weather was soooo beautiful. And the decorations outstanding!!! We left from home Christmas night, so we didn't have to deal with Christmas day crowds in the parks. I hear that is awfully unbelievable.

If you don't have little kids, do the "boring" grown-up stuff. SHOP SHOP SHOP hee hee hee
