I am considering planning a Sept. 05 trip to DW for my family. It would be me. DH, DD(3) and twin DS(2). I was wondering if you think I am crazy or could we handle this trip with three toddlers. Our expectations are that we would see only all the pre-school geared attractions. We would be flying in from Ohio and hopefully staying on site (any suggestions as to where would be best for us would be appreciated).
My dd is really into princesses. I would get the greatest thrill out of seeing her meet them.
DH says he is willing to do this if I think we can maneuver around WDW with three toddlers in tow.
Please offer any feedback!!
Thanks!

If you can handle all three at the mall or grocery shopping, your could do all three at Disney. I've seen several families at WDW with triplets or more in tow. The challenges I see ahead of you are 1) keeping the children together and 2) getting on buses or trams with 2 stollers and 3 kids. Everything else should fall into place nicely.

If you can afford it, you might want to stay at one of the monorail resorts to make travel to MK a little easier. Good luck!

theres a princess character breakfast at magic kingdom's cinderella "royal table" inside the castle, they also have a princess character breakfast at epcot's norway "akershus" where you enjoy breakfast & get to meet & take pictures w/ your fav disney princesses. book either ps in advance, as their both very popular, 407-wdw-dine (939-3463). there's also a number of other character meals at wdw resorts & parks or meet&greets in the themeparks, mickeys toontown fair is a special place just for little ones in magic kingdom. check out birnbaums 2005 walt disney world official book or walt disney world passporter book (you can rent either from most local libraries) they've always been helpful with my plans (we've gone over 18times too)

fyi-if you're planning september, go in late september its much better for weather & crowds than near labor day.

have a great wdw family trip!

I agree, you take them other places so why not WDW? Hope you have a 3 person stroller!! There are plenty of rides if you just want to stay with the preschool group. Buy a tour book (The Unoffical Guide is good) and read Deb's site at wdwig.com. There is even a preschool section.

I think a monorail resort would be great, but expensive. Wilderness Lodge is a deluxe but the rooms are smaller therefore cheaper. They have a boat that takes you to MK which is really nice. Buses for the other parks. Your kids might like the decore of the value resorts, but the rooms are very small. POFQ is a moderate resort and not as spread out as the others making it easier to get around.

Good Luck in your decision, you'll have a great time. Any other questions, just ask.

Monorail resorts are Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, and the Polynesian. I think that Wilderness Lodge is just as convenient to MK b/c of the boats (boats also go from Grand Floridian, Poly and Contemporary as well as the monorail). JMHO. :wave2:

You may want to consider concierge service. We find it very convenient with our 3 young children and my kids love it too.

I have a picture of 4 of mine when they were not yet 2, 3,4 & 5. It was busy, busy, busy, but I loved every minute of it. They are now 6, 7, 8 and just 10, and they laugh at the picture now :goodvibes . I have a 3 year old now, but when I had her in the parks, I put her in a stroller or on a leash (be prepared to be flamed for the leash). We stayed in the cabins before buying our camper at Ft. Wilderness. They have their own kitchen and a private bedroom plus a murphy bed that is in the living room. The private bedroom has a double bed, plus a set of bunks. It is not on the monorail system, but it is a boat ride from the MK. We always found it easier to drive to any of the other parks due to the stroller/cooler situation but the bus is easy to navigate. I say go for it! The memories last a lifetime.

The first 2 times we took ours we stayed at the Cont. IMO well worth the extra $. to stay on the monorail. We still had a rental car, but having the monorail made life really easy. The 1st yr we stayed in a wing of Cont. that was a little rough as it only has exterior corridors. (we had a wk of rain).

Did it with triplets @ 3 1/2y.o. and we continue to go back (almost 14 now) so it must not be that bad.
You can PM me if you'd like.
Good luck.

We stayed at a Fort Wilderness cabin for the first time last month. It was nice not having to worry about the children making so much noise and disturbing others. There was more room to move about, also. And we had a full-sized kitchen. We planned on cooking lots of meals there, but we didn't. But we did have breakfast there every morning, and lots of quick meals/snacks (like mac n' cheese, hot chocolate, grilled cheese, etc.) There is also a separate bedroom that has a full-sized bed and bunk beds. You could put the 3 year old in the bottom bunk and the twins in the double-sized bed. There is a pull-down full-sized bed in the living room. They have a large porch with a picnic table that my little ones ran around on and played on. They also have 2 tvs in the cabin, and the one in the living room has a vcr with it. Fort Wilderness also has a couple of playgrounds and just lots of room to run around. They have a beach area (no swimming there) where you can see the fireworks at night. And they have an electric water parade you can see from the beach, too.

If you rent a car, it would be easy to drive to the parks with your own triple-stroller (though it's kind of a pain to fold it up and carry it on the trams but you would have to do that on the monorails anyway.) You park your car right outside of the cabin.

I think you would be able to do this as long as you don't expect to see everything. Take lots of breaks during the day...like just letting the kids run around, snacks, naps, etc.

Have fun. :)

I am in the same situation as you are. We are also planning a trip for sept. 05 with my DH, DD (4) and twin sons (2)! I have been gathering all kinds of information and asking as many questions as I can think of to start planning ahead. My DD has waited two years to see Cinderella! We are trying to decide between the FW eresort or staying at a monorail site. I really like the idea of the monorail and being able to roll on and of with out unpacking your stroller. But the FW seems more geared to kids and we will be spending a lot of nap times where ever we stay, although I worry about a long boat ride when we come and go from naps. I do like the idea of the kitchen. My mother in law will also be going and she would put the kitchen to good use! My DD is also allergic to milk so we will have to ask every waiter what ALL of the ingredients are when we eat out. We can't decide which situation is better.
We have decided to purchase some reclining umbrella strollers. We have a nice double stroller but we thought we would want something easier to transport and pack up. I also liked the idea of being able to attach them if we need to or seperate them if we wanted to spend some one on one time. We will probly have the two out all the time for the boys and have the third stored underneath for when my DD has worn out.
Maybe we will pass each other at all the toddler events! We also do not plan on doing everything. My DD would be happy with just seeing the castle and one day at the park and the boys would have fun anywhere. We are not going to try and squeeze everything in. We have checked out some nice books from our local library and when reading them to my DD she has spoken up about things she would like to do.Good Luck!

Just wanted to encourage you, you can do it and you will have a blast! It's really not that hard. You have gotten some great advice, and though it's not exactly the same, a friend and I leave our DH's home and do Disneyland and DCA all the time for 4-5 days at a time and we have 5 kids between the two of us, and I am pregnant. Ages this year (we have gone 3 times this year so far!) are DD 4, she has twin DS's 3, DD almost 2, she has DS 14 months! You can do it, and all the kids and you will have a great time! Have fun!

Go for it!! Definitely bring two strollers - a double and a single - to keep them contained. A triple would be awfully hard to maneuver through the parks, on monorails, etc.

As a little extra oomph, if you do it now (vs. waiting until after they turn 3), the twins are free in the parks and at buffets...

I agree. I say go. You take your children everywhere else WDW can be done too. A monorail resort is great with little ones. For the extra $$ the convenience can't be beat. WL would ge great too.

I would bring also bring a double and a single stroller.

I always find the people who say to wait until they are older are the same ones that lock themselves in the house (or get a sitter) rather than taking their kids anywhere. If you can go out to eat, a park, the zoo, the mall, the grocery store, six flags, etc, etc if your kids, you won't find Disney THAT much harder.

That age is a wonderful age because it is all so REAL to them. Sept. would be a great time too (after Labor Day) because it is off season. Meaning cheaper and less crowded. I think you'd be foolish to stay off site with little ones (watch for discount codes closer to travel time, but don't wait to book your room). The monorail resorts or Wilderness (Ft. or Lodge) would probably be easiest, especially if you don't have your own car (rental in your case).

Bring your own stroller(s)--I suggest whatever you, and they, are used to at home. You can walk them from car/bus to entrance (you don't have to take the tram) and up to the hotel. You will be too tired to haul around 3 little ones and they'll be too tired for foot power. Take plenty of breaks too, even if you don't go back to the hotel to nap (that's what carasoul of progress, hall of presidents, leisurely lunches, the railroad are for :earboy2: )

Get a princess character meal for your dd. Either crt, dinner at 1900 Park Fair, or the one (can't think of it--have all boys myself) in Epcot. You may also want to do Crystal Palace or one of the other main characters meals for your boys.

And most importantly, HAVE FUN!! Let your kids dictate the pace. If they aren't enjoying something, stop. Leave if necessary. Repeat over and over what they love. Don't be rigid, just follow their clues. And take lots and lots of pictures.

I say go for it! Just have to learn to take it slow and realize you won't get to see everything. However, you will get to see that wonderful look on your DD's face when she sees the Princess' and the castle. I think watching them see the magic of Disney is worth the extra effort. princess: princess:

Yes you can handle the trip if you are up for a little chaos. I went with 5 toddlers and yes it got a little hectic but it was still very doable :jumping1:

Hope i helped and hav a great trip!! :wave2:

You could rent Disney Vacation Club (DVC) points and get a 2 BR at the Wilderness Lodge Villas (or any other DVC resort, of course). Points typically rent for $10.00 per point. I just looked...5 nights (Sun ~ Thu.) in September at the Wilderness Lodge Villas will "cost" 150 points or $1,500.00. No tax is added. The 2 BR units have a king bed in the master bedroom and 2 queens in the second bedroom. There is a full kitchen and separate living area from the bedrooms. The couch folds out to a full (maybe queen?) bed too. There is also a washer and dryer in every unit (other than studios). There are 2 bathrooms with a large jacuzzi-type tub in the master bedroom. The DIS has a DVC point rental board you can check out. We've rented points twice without any problems. Renting points provides other perks too like free valet parking, free use of the resort health clubs, etc. Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have about renting DVC points.
