Am I CRAZY? 4th of July Weekend.

OK, I know the 4th of July weekend is going to be busy, I guess I am wondering on the extent of busy. Comparible to NYE? Or maybe not that bad... just close?

I have no intentions to punish myself, my birthday just happens to be on the 2nd so we were going to go July 1-5.... convince me not to change my plans. Do they do anything special for the 4th of July?


It really doesn't help that July 4 is a Saturday also...

We have been maybe 5 times on that day and the surrounding days. We usually arrive on the 4th. It isn't like NYE but it is busy...july is anyway. It can be hot, one year it was quite cool but that is unusual! The 4th itself isn't too bad until the evening when everyone and their mom shows up. Mainstreet will be wall to wall people and you will wait hours ahead of time for a fireworks spot there. I honestly wouldn't care to go on that day again because I dont feel they do anything extra special and it is a lot of people. My sister usually insists but now that I have my own family and travel without them we wont be going back again that time anytime soon. Plan for hot weather and heavy crowds.

It's a busy day. How busy? Well...

- A Saturday = busy
- Summer = busy
- Holiday = busy
- Great weather = busy
- All APs except Premium are blocked out = in your favor
- Not as bad as NYE

We were there last year from 6/30-7/5. The only crazy busy day was the
4th. They have special fireworks and people started packing main street at 4. It was impossible to move. Other then that we had a great trip.

4th of July is going to be like any busy day in July and is most definately not as crowded as NYE.

Special things:
* 4th of July fireworks (they just changed the song last year)
* Sometimes they give away little flag pins so we can all be patriotic! They're not special or anything, it's just a flag, but the past couple of years that I've gone, I went later in the day and we didn't get a pin, but I saw some ppl w/ them so maybe they were there really early.
* There's always some 4th of July merch that they sell during the season.

we had been both NYE and the 4th of July. The 4th of July was packed and sooo hot. NYE was pouring rain so it wasnt that crowed. We had fun both times. You will make do. Dont change your plans!

My birthday is on the 2nd too! I will be there. Last year it wasn't bad at all, but it was in the middle of the week. I'll probably be there on the 3rd as well (my friends birthday).

Thanks everyone! I'll stick to it. I just kept hearing on the WDW Theme Park Strategies... people were saying stuff like "well it's not as busy as NYE or July 4" so had to panic a little.

But I'm good now.
