No, you are not being unreasonable. We made sure all our family knew well in advanced when the baptism would be so they could make plans ahead of time as we lived out of state. One week is not enough notice.

Our 2 month old nephew (husband’s youngest brother’s son) is being baptized next week. We were told about the baptism last week and received the invitation in the mail on Friday

You are not being unreasonable.

You should have had more than 10 days notice if they REALLY wanted you there.

I'd just keep repeating to MIL "Sorry, it's just not possible"
