Am I being too sensitive? Be honest :)

It's hard to say whether you are being oversensitive or not. If these people are anything like the people I work with, then you are certainly NOT being overly sensitive. If I were pregnant and my co-worker said that to me, I would jump down her throat feet first!!


My supervisor told me I better not put in my notice before Mid-April because of her vacation and I certainly considered this, but since she is being lazy and dumping all of her work on me...I think I will quit in Mid-March!

Okay, so with my little story I am saying - DON'T GET MAD, GET EVEN!!!

I'd definitely get even.

First, "oh heavens, my baby wouldn't think of coming into the world to interrupt your vacation."

Then, every day I'd talk about it. Talk about how you feel, each time the babies moving, every little braxton hicks labor pain. And smile ever so sweetly while doing so.

I wouldn't do that with everyone, just the most annoying ones.

Next, if you want an honest opinion. I don't think anyone means it like that. I think it's an off the cuff remark and they aren't thinking beyond not having you in the office. I honestly don't think they're making the connection.

If your co-workers have been saying these comments for awhile now, they just need to get over it. I don't think you're being sensitive. I would have honestly said by now when they say stuff about you interrupting their vacation, "ah well, what's meant to be will be," and continue on my way. I bet those people have taken days off where you had to pick up their work load and vice versa, not to mention I'm sure one of them has children as well too!

I know your frustration. No, you are not being over sensitive.

My boss kept saying stuff like that during my whole pregnancy. Like you said, the first few weeks were ok. After a few months, it was annoying. By the last few weeks the comments were just unbearable.
