Hi-short story FIL has alzheimers, being taken care of at home by MIL. He's 79, she's 75. MIL is at the point where she needs some help with him. They are in Florida-anyone have any idea what it costs for someone to come in for respite care? MIL just needs a break, to go get groceries, etc. Perhaps some personal care for him.
Thanks for any insight--

For non-medical home health care, which is what it sounds like you are looking for, I would expect to pay $17 - $25 per hour. It depends on how many hours you use and whether it is night or day or weekend. Here is the link for Home Instead which is an example of a national agency agancy that provides that type of assistance.

I am basing this on what I know to be the case in Maryland. The cost may vary in other states but I think that would be the average.
