Always wanted to post this but never did.

I had the shoulder strap over my shoudler) and apologized to her. She said "why apologize now you've been doing it since we got in line!" I said I'm sorry I didn't realize I had bumped you before. She said you and your daughter who actually leaned on me! My DD normally isn't the kind to hang. So I apologized for her. She kept going on and on, I said she's a kid, if she did it, it wasn't on purpose. She said I have a 4 yr old too and you have to continually watch them
You are an amazingly nice person! I would have said oh shut up and get over yourself :sunny: but then again I have been told I am quite rude ;)

If someone is dilly dallying in line I just walk around them. Especially if I'm not interested in not eating that item.

This man was having a bad day I think.::yes:: :wave2:

I will share with you what I heard a guy tell somebody who had the same complaint with supposed "line jumping" at a favorite breakfast buffet we go to.
This very large man was upset that this other guy had passed him (to get to hot items instead of cold). The large man screams at him about their being a line, and this young guy- with a big smile on his face- replied, "Hey Dude. Only dogs fight over food." Then he graciously stepped back at let the big guy go on. Everyone else just laughed at what a jerk the big guy had made of himself. I thought that response was perfect.
People at buffets act like its the last food they will ever see. Sheesh.

I like the set up at Boma since there is not one buffet line. There are the individual pods to deal with, but at least nobody expects a person to start at one end or the other of the whole buffet.

LOL!! I was thinking of this the whole time I read this thread. Boma is one of our favorite buffets, and the first time we went, they explained that you didn't have to wait through the whole line, just go to the pod that had the items you want. However, when DD and I ate there last April, we did what we always do, and headed to the hummus pod, then the soup pod. There was no one at either, so we did not "cut" in front of anyone. But as we walked away, I saw a very long line of people standing at the meat carving pod, some of them were giving us dirty looks. They seemed to think we had cut in front of them, even though we were half-way across the room. I felt very uncomfortable after that.

I think the cm's should point out to guests that they do not have to wait in a regular line, that they can come and go at each of the pods as they choose. (Waiting behind others at that pod, of course.) That might help alleviate the confusion.

That's funny! I can't believe that it didn't dawn on those people that they could go to the individual pods. We're vegetarian and the last place that I was going to hang out was by the first pod, the carving station. :teeth:

I do think that the first time we went to Boma the wait person mentioned that we can go to the individual pods. It does seem obvious, though, with the set-up there.

Tigger&Belle - I agree, it does seem obvious to me, too. We had never encountered this situation before at Boma. It's kind of strange that so many people who didn't get it were all there that night!;)

Oh, and funkyjohn I forgot to mention in my other post - your comment about the guy needing a hug made me LOL!!
