We go to Alton Towers a lot (we have annual passes and have had them for the past 10 years), I personally would not buy the fast track passes as I think they are expensive for what they are. I would however buy the tickets from the website so that you can get early entry. This way you can get Spinball Whizzer, runaway mine train and Nemasis done before the park opens to other guests. Then head over to 13 followed by Rita (definately in that order) Make sure you are walking over there before 10am to beat the non early entry crowds so you will be near the front of the 13 line. Then catch the sky ride back over and do Air. Once they are all done do the water rides if you want to (depends on the weather!) and Oblivion (the line for Oblivion always goes quickly.) Then enjoy any other rides you want to (I would then do Hex, look around the sealife centre and then Duel.) Then after that look to see what the lines are like (the electronic board times are usually quite accurate). We went last Friday and it wasn't actually that busy. We got all the rides done (except the water ones, it wasn't that warm!) by 1:30pm and the longest wait we had was 20 minutes for Air. If you can't get tickets with early entry I would go to 13 1st, then Rita and then catch the sky ride over to do Nemasis and Air. Those are the 4 rides which will have the bigger lines later on. Have a fab day, if you have any more questions just ask!
