We are going to DLRP over Christmas and don't want to pay for the Christmas meals and buffets that are available.
Does anyone know if the other restaurants are open Xmas eve/day for 'normal' meals?
I read somewhere that they weren't open after 8pm on Xmas Eve, but I can't find this info again.
Also, is it essential to always book in advance for meals? What's the waiting times like if you just turn up?

Thanks

It's only certain restaurants that do a special meal for Christmas Eve. It's usually Walt's, Plaza Gardens and Blue Lagoon. Counter service will be open in the park, also The Lucky Nugget (and probably Silver Spur) although you may have to have lunch if you want to eat at these. The restaurants in the Village should be usual prices (excluding The Steakhouse) but as you can't book these (apart from Cafe Mickey) you would be better eating in the afternoon there as there will be terrible queues in the evening.

On Christmas Day as well as counter service the park restaurants should all be open at normal prices.

I would certainly make reservations for over Christmas ~ you can phone to make them on 00 33 1 60 30 40 50 :) When we were there two years ago the waiting times for restaurants in the Village in the evening were 2+ hours and Cafe Mickey was turning people away telling them to return 2 1/2 hours later "just in case" they could sit them.
