Heading back to Disney in October for the 2nd time this year... I must be mad... never thought I'd enjoy it the first time we went 2 years ago and now we can't stay away.

The only thing that really surprises me is how little there is to do in the evenings. Buffalo Bills is great, but we've done that twice, and if you're not really bar people, there's not a lot else - although some nights collapsing exhausted is about all I can manage!

Does anyone have suggestions for things to do in the evenings? I know there are some Disney excursions, but only the Paris trip runs during the week. I think we'll probably do that one anyway, or drive into Paris and do something similar. It needs to be something suitable for a 7 year old and some parents who are the wrong side of 21..

Wishing everyone a piece of the magic on their next trip. :yay:

When the parks shut earlier I plan on leaving dinner till after closing time.

I plan on having a post park swim, and then dinner and then jsut chilling. But I think thats becaus my last trip was on the go until 12pm every night SO I'm really looking forward to getting to bed at bed time in disney!

You're right about the lack of evening activity. I think there are salsa lessons and karaoke at the sports bar. Seem a bit grown up though...

Rainforest Cafe would be fun for everyone!

We've usually gone when the park is open late so not needed to find things to fill the evening.
The park closed early at Easter when we went but didnt seem to ahve difficulty finding something to do. I think we were probably so shattered we just flopped.

We're not really bar people but emjoyed going for a drink usually in the Redwod bar at S Lodge - very floppy kind of bar if you see what I mean.

I wouldnt recomend driving into Paris - take the RER or the trip.

We wander round the village or just flop in the hotel. There is and arcade and bowling in the village but I have never been so cant tell you what it is like :)

We usually have a wander round the village & the other hotels. Have a drink in one of the bars & then just relax.

Hi Ruddles and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

As most of our trips are in the summer the parks are open until later.
Otherwise we put our troops to bed and relax with some liquid refreshment :thumbsup2

I've always been to DLRP when the parks closed at 6 or 7pm.

We go for dinner, that usually takes us til around 9pm to finish, then we might go shopping in the Village. To be honest, by 9.30pm, me and DD are usually completely shattered, having been up since 7am latest in the morning, only stopping for a bite to eat at lunch.

So its usually bed for us by 10pm at the latest.

We really enjoyed just having a sit down at Billy Bobs in the village each night and checking out the live music with some booze after a day in the parks. In fact, this is one of our best memories from the trip! :goodvibes

We must just be real nosey as we love people watching and just wandering. We're planning to head to the DL Hotel and have a cocktail there on our next trip which we've never done before.

By the time we've done a bit of shopping on the way back to the hotel, then had either a hot chocolate to warm up, or cold drink to cool down, then we're just about ready for our beds.

It's really easy but we have dinner when the park closes, then head over to the Red Garter Salopn to have a nice relaxing pint, taking the opportunity to listen to some brilliant country music, talk about what we did that day and plan the next day's activities. Then it's into bed to watch Disney Channel and get somw much needed sleep! :cool1:

i think we are just gonna get dinner and head for bed. except one night i want to send my mom and sis on the paris tour. with a 22 month baby i cant go.

We take a portable dvd player with TV cable and a few movies, and buy some beer/wine from the garage. For noise (!) we either hang around the village or use the Santa Fe bar.
