Alternative Dining - Outside of the Parks/Resorts

We'll be staying at Shades of Green for about eight days, and will be visiting Disney properties for four of those days and Universal for 2-3. Other than in the Parks and Resorts, to include Disney Springs, what are some alternative dining spots? We do plan on having a few meals within the parks, Chefs de France has become a tradition as well as breakfast at 'Ohana, but we'd like to spend a little less on food this time around. Is dining out in town a viable/sensible option?

I ate at Sweet Tomatoes three times this week. 10ish bucks for a buffet? Yes thank you. A little more if you want a soda or coffee.

Sunday morning they have breakfast buffet. I tried to make that happen but it didn't.

If you head out Disney down World Drive you will run straight into Celebration. We have some GREAT restaurants...(not chains) Our favorites are Columbia, D'antonios, and the Town Tavern. Have a great trip!
