Alternative Christmas Dinner?

We are having roast turkey, roast pork, roast potatoes, carrots, peas, parsnips, sprouts with bacon, pigs in blankets, sausagemeat stuffing & gravy.

I too don't like bread sauce but my cousin loves it with anything:eek:

We're having smoked salmon parcel thingies from M&S as a starter.

Main course - duck with fruity brandy sauce (fruity = orange and cranberry)

Dessert - don't know. Neither of us are very bothered by pudding. We don't like Christmas cake, Christmas pudding or mince pies so it won't be any of those!

Another one who doesn't eat bread sauce or cranberry sauce-bleurghhh-well none of us do.
No-ones mentioned pickles?.We have little bowls of small pickled onions,gherkins,red cabbage+picallilli on the table.x.

We always have pickles for Christmas Day dinner,then Boxing Day is a cold meat buffet,pickles,seafood,chutneys(home-made by my Nan),samosas,bhaji's,duck pancakes etc..

When i lived at home(with nan+grandad)we always used to have the same again on Boxing Day+again on New Years Day.When i moved out-it changed and i done a Boxing day buffet and it has stuck ever since.We still have the same big Turkey+Trimmings dinner on New Years Day though.x.

We shall be having:

Pear, stilton and rocket salad with walnuts and a balsmic dressing

~~~~~~~~
Turkey, duck and chicken ballotine, with roast potatoes, honey roast parsnips, garlic brussels, red cabbage, honey roast carrots, bread sauce, stuffing, cocktail sausages, bacon rolls and gravy.
Our eldest daughter who is vegetarian will have a Fruity nut roast.
~~~~~~~~~~

Hot Christmas pud or a chocolate bombe with fresh vanilla custard - served cold

We will have a bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape with the meal.

We will be having our traditional meal of egg and chips on christmas day.:cool1:

We started it over 15 years ago when we had one very small child and I was 8 months pregnant, as I hate turkey, even the smell makes me sick, so DH said there was no need to do a full dinner just for him, he'd do us egg and chips, and it stuck!:lmao:

DH and the kids get the works if we go to a rellys for the big day, but as they all live long distances away, and we don't own a car, that isn't very often. The kids love having "our traditional dinner", as egg and chips is a treat, and we have a full roast dinner every week.:woohoo:

We will be having roast gammon and veg on the 24th, and a boxing day buffet of sausages on sticks, ham, rolls, etc..it's just dinner on the 25th that is a bit different.

I hope everyone has a great time, whatever they are having.:goodvibes

We have pickles for the Boxing day meal which is usually cold meat & jacket potato, or if i'm lucky we have enough left overs for me to have another roast dinner:thumbsup2

We always have the traditional Christmas day dinner, Turkey and all the trimmings.

I do keep asking my mum if one year we could have a curry lol, she said no.

Boxing day is all the cold meat and pickle onions stuff that i dont enjoy, so mum is doing me a jacket potato instead lol...very festive.

I love bread sauce.
