Alternative campground for thanksgiving week.

Has anyone stayed at another campground near Disney? For months now we have been trying at least 3 times per day to get 11/26-11/29 added to our reservation with no luck. I think it is now time to explore other options for those 3 days. I don't want to wait too long and be out of luck at another campground too. TIA

Those are THE 3 hardest days to get a reservation at FW from my experience. I tried to book that for this year back in January, and couldn't get it. We tried calling/checking the site every day for a few months, and finally gave up and just pushed our trip forward a week.

Last year we were scheduled to arrive the Sunday after Thanksgiving, but ended up getting there Saturday instead. We spent the night at a nice little campground right off the main drag in Kissimmee. Just walked right in, no problems (I think the cost was about $38/nt). Sorry, can't remember the name off the top of my head, but I do remember it was down the street from a Walmart up a little back street.

btw, I booked Thanksgiving 2009 about 6 weeks ago, 3 days after they opened that up, and got it!

Thank you. We were going to push the vacation up 2 weeks but then the kids schedules got changed so we have to go that week or not at all. We always reserve a year in advance but this year we forgot and so it did not get done until march. We are going to keep trying for another week and then book someplace else so we can put this out of our minds and just get ready to go.
