I plan on making reservatinons for our stay next year (will soon finalize date and wait for the 11 month window). Now, not many people can plan and commit 11 months ahead so what I would like to do is make our reservations and book an extra studio for 1 family/friend I plan on asking - I know one will definitely come. Can this also be reseved under my name or dh's name and then change it to their name as we get closer to the date?

Yes - you can always modify the names associated with a reservation after its been made...

You can take your DH's off and add your friend's, or, even better, just leave your DH on and then add your friend. It doesn't hurt to have two names on the reservation...

Thanks Beth - was hoping so. Even though I would be treating them to the room, I know it's still an expense to them (flight, park tickets, shopping and meals). We are blessed and lucky we can go so often. Some people go once every 5 - 10 years or once in a lifetime. I have plenty of family who are waiting for me to ask and a friend or two that I woud love treat and enjoy their company.

One thing you can't count on doing that is related to your question. That is book a 2 BR and just change it to a studio or 1 BR later on even if it's a lockoff. If available you still may be able to just change it but in many cases you must cancel then rebook and if there's a waiting list you may go to the bottom of the list. If you have enough points and will be ok with your banking window, I'd definitely recommend booking what you may need then cancelling what you don't later. Good luck.
