This post might sound familiar..... just back from RPH, we had 2 rooms, one club, one regular. We are Leows gold card members........ checked in at 10am, rooms not ready of course. We were paged by 11:30 that the regular room was ready (water view upgrade from standard view). We returned to hotel and at 3:50 STILL no club level rooms available (check in is 4pm). My DH was annoyed, felt it was unlikely NO ONE ELSE received a room since 10am that morning. At 4pm exactly, we are given a room, and it was the "lovely" highway view, and was a HANDICAPPED room. It still had 2 double beds, which was odd, as the room was still smallish, no way a wheelchair could move around that room. It was the bathroom that we hated! No tub, no stall, just a flat floor that was tilted for water run off. Made so a wheelchair could roll right in, I guess. It looked really icky, hard to explain, darker than normal, or something. My husband went down to complain, gold card members, terrible view, no tub for my son, and we checked in at 10am........ first they played dumb, then suddenly a wonderful room was available! Right across from the club room, view of pool and the rides, too. We had to have new keys made, and transfer all the luggage down the hall. VERY annoying. I guess in the future, I will say no handicapped on reservation.

PS next day no maid service when we returned at 4:30 pm. Again, we had to complain, they made good, aplogized and cut the room rate for that night. We had no towels to use, had to vacate room and sit in club room while they did the room. Must have some problems with the maid service, understaffed or something.

WE LOVE this hotel, we will likely return someday, these things did not ruin our stay at ALL. Crowds lighter than I expected. I wish they would build a NEW RIDE at Universal, there was nothing new from our visit 2 years ago. (The nightime show did not run all weekend, and Fear Factor was closed)

Thanks for your report. We were stuck briefly in a handicapped room once too. They were not to our taste at all either. We hated that the toilet and the shower were in the same room as the sink. Let's face it: no matter how immodest you are in front of your significant other, there are just **some** things you shouldn't do in front of the other while he is brushing his teeth! :teeth: We too asked to be moved, and the front desk clerk said she didn't blame us... she wouldn't want an accessible room either!

I am pretty sure that only the bathroom was accessible though.. Like you, the room we were first put in had 2 queen beds. I am not sure how a wheelchair could maneuver around the room. I forget our room number, but it was in the hallway as you come off the elevators and make your first turn...where you could see the club lounge doors straight on. Ours had a view of the park and the pool, and they thought they were doing us a favor.

We too have had some pretty late housekeeping service and had to complain. Nothing like coming back from the pool at 4 in a wet bathing suit and having to wait out housekeeping in the lounge. That only happened once though so it wasn't too bad.

Glad you had a great stay. :)

We have stayed on the club level two previous trips at RPH and we had issues with maid service on both trips.

1. Room not being cleaned until 6pm one night after multiple phone calls. And maid service with attitude.

2. Maid service letting someone into one of our rooms with my SIL was napping with my infant nephew because the people told them it was their room. Obviously it was not. No apology...nothing. We have not returned since that episode which was 4 years ago.

Which is sad because we enjoyed their club service over HRH and PBH both. But security takes priority.

We had a handicap double queen connected to our Villa Suite so our deluxe bathroom did not have the shuttered window over the tub or the separate shower. It was still an outstanding room!
